2 inch Ribeyes from a show steer that didn't place at a major show. Also grilled Corn on the cob, Grilled squash and salad. Plenty of beer to wash it down.

I roasted an entire chicken. It was not special though. Just from the store. I want a frizzle chicken.

Son had 4 steers last year. 3 placed one finished two spots out from placing, so I was happy with bringing it home and eating it. I definitely know how to feed out some beef.

Wow that's great! Your son must be good. My aunt raises grass fed only cows, and man, you miss the good corn finish. They're so lean I have to add fat to my burgers in the form of ground pork.

I agree with that. Starts with a good steer ration. I'll actually cook steam flake corn and barley in a crockpot and add to our show feed.

It's to part having a good showman one part Dad knowing genetics and knowing how to feed cattle.

We have commercial cattle but also raise show cattle as well. Our place has been a working cattle ranch since 1927.
