Been to San Antonio only a handful of times...haven't been to the Riverwalk in 35 years (yeah, crazy).

Going to S.A. in June...and wanted to do the tourista thing and stay in a hotel on the Riverwalk. Suggestions gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

Dury Inn riverwalk. If you want to save money the one close to the airport is a lot cheaper and not that far from the river walk. They run a free shuttle.

Really enjoyed the Westin. It's on the riverwalk but not in an area where it's busy, so you can sit out on the patio and enjoy it. If you want to get into the busy area, it's a 3 minute walk along the RW.

yeah, but it makes getting service at restaurants damn near impossible when you do that...

Stayed at the wyndham garden inn on the new north part of the riverwalk. Would not recommend. the mattress was incredibly bad. Brand new hotel when we stayed last year and the mattress was like concrete. The wife slept on the crappy little chez lounge chair, and i should have moved to the floor. Other than the awful beds, the hotel was nice.

Contessa was the same, rock hard beds. Sometimes hotels have those adjustable beds and don't tell you.
