And Alamo Draft House is more laid back. I would say food and drinks are about equal.

SMG you can reserve specific seats which I like. Alamo you can't. SMG has an overall convenience factor I like about ordering your tickets online with what seats you want then walk in and swipe your card at a station and it prints your tickets. Takes about 5 seconds.

SMG will bring your tab with an hour + left in the movie which irritates me.

I would say Alamo has a slight edge on the food and drink quality as well.

I'm pretty sure you can reserve seats at Alamo. At least in Dallas.

Also, if you're in Dallas, check out Look Cinema as well. It's the most expensive, but I think it has the best food.

I only drink swill while doing hood rat things like going to the movies.

I've only been to the Alamo in Katy. You can reserve tickets but not specific seats.

The Alamo holds a place in my heart. I waitressed at one during my college summers and winter breaks. I made sooooo much money. The food is good. We got a free pizza every shift. If they still have Enter the Dragon pizza get that. Yum. We had lots of fun.

I got really sick in the pants last time I went to SMG.

These places drive me nuts. I don't understand why people want to be interrupted during a movie for crappy food. If you are in Dallas... go to Inwood, Angelika or Highland Park Village and buy the drinks before you go in. If you want multiple drinks all you do is ask that the 2nd drink is served w/ ice on the side. If you are into beer then you have the cup of ice to keep your beer cold, if you have a mix drink then you poor the second drink into the ice when ready and if you are going wine you didn't need the ice to begin with.

alamo pizzas

I like them. The servers aren't any more distracting than the person next to me opening their beer or digging in the bag for the last of the popcorn.

If I'm watching something deep or introspective where I want to really pay attention, I just wait to watch it at home.

When I was at the Alamo we got to screen all the movies and picked the least obtrusive time to come by to do final call and drop the check.

Also had some guy try to give me a piece of paper with the words $20 written on it and seriously tried to use it to pay his tab. What.

Alamo has great milkshakes.

Good one bro. Considering that this was almost 10 years ago, the pizzas from the Alamo no longer have any impact on my weight.

I like Alamo. Dont usually eat though. Last time I went was for some comedy skits late night though
