Absolutely nothing. Stayed with a friend for a week who lived there. Wound up going to Beaumont for everything.

That sign hasn't been there in years...and neither has the Klan. Vidor gets a bad rap for the actions of some idiots. The Klan doesn't have the numbers or influence that is used to. The same could be said of Lumberton. The problems in Lumberton ran pretty deep, maybe even deeper than Vidor's. However, the Klan has died off in both towns and no one has taken their place.

While in Vidor go eat at James Brown's Gumbo Shack and eat the boudin balls. Also, go try Woogie's and eat a poboy and pistolettes.

I know what it's like to live in a town with a reputation. Not nearly as bad a Vidor's but i can identify. A bad reputation can unfortunately persist LONG after the problem has subsided or been addressed. Hang in the Vidor.
