Looking to go the West Coast sometime in near future. Those of you that frequent area or have traveled there, what would you recommend? West of Colorado.

The whole western part of the state is nice. Butte (hippies), Bozeman (directly north of Yellowstone National Park- also Museum of the Rockies is pretty awesome), Kallispell (Glacier National Park). Lots of nice hunting and fishing in that area too. It's not like Texas, we have BLM and BMA land up here, so you just need your licenses and you can hunt/fish for free in a lot of areas.
Though I wouldnt say visiting MT is a cost efficient trip. Flying into any airport up here from Texas will run you about 700-1K per person. Gas prices are much higher here, as is the cost of goods, and because the western part of the state has several Reservations, be prepared to get screwed out of money as often as possible.

Eating at a restaurant is as expensive as you want it to be, but overall, it's a lot more reasonable than what you'd find in say, NYC.

Not really a ringing endorsement.

I'd say I spent more for a dinner in San Fran than I did in Anchorage.

You just picked another insanely expensive city to compare it to.
Why not compare it to Hawaii while you are at it.

What is it really like in Colorado now as far as the marijuana is considered? I've seen stuff on the travel travel about Amsterdam. Is it like that but without legal/not enforced prostitution?
