RG1, I appreciate it, but I have a bad taste in my mouth about all of this now. Whether that person represents the feeling of the whole group or not, there was nothing holiday-spirited about that email.

It's disappointing because I was going to suggest to the person who drew my name to please make a donation to a favorite charity.

I hope your experience is better than mine.

It is #sad that someone would be so rude to deny someone joining a fun holiday event as simple as a gift exchange.

BB, I'm not sure if this was directed at me or not. I don't have a problem with giving or receiving gifts, as in the materialistic part of Christmas. It's just that I already have everything that I need, and I like to raise awareness for various worthy causes.

Charpie, this might be a fun game to play: what I would have got for you if I would have drawn your name (if I hadn't received that email). I was thinking maybe some Starbucks gift certificates and and some country records I think you'd like. Would that have been a good gift for you?

Sometimes they're weird about PO boxes. I let my roommate's parents send something to him at my PO box once and they didn't accept it because it didn't have my name it. You're not supposed to share PO boxes.

Go ahead and sign up. If it gets close to the draw date and you don't have an address I will work it out with you. You could also just list your first name on the website so packages get delivered if you're concerned about stuff getting rejected by the post office.
