If you don't argue it means you don't really care and your "emotional distance" is giving her all the excuse she needs to cheat on you.

Did I get that right, ladies?

One of you will most likely bolt at the first sign of trouble due to having an unrealistic expectation of your relationship to that point

Atag giving relationship advise is an absolute joke . She came on this site and bragged about cheating on her new husband. What an awful, awful person no matter what she looks like.

OP, no, I don't think you have to fight, and though unmarried I've had long, happy relationships. I've not ever fought like my folks fought, but I'm mellow and non-combative. My disposition just doesn't do "fighting"...I'm going to look at you like a crazy person if you yell at me, or want to get mad and argue. As a dude, I've always found the shortest distance back to happy with women is disregarding my ego, being a big soft sissy boy, and talking about my feelings like I'm on the shrink's couch. It has also helped me a lot to make apologizing the instant I know I'm wrong as natural as breathing. "Did I **** up? I'm sorry." "Did I really just say that? I apologize." Boom, situation diffused before her crazy ass even had time to get pissed, it's nice. I think stupid pride gets people into more avoidable relationship BS than anything else. Remember that your ego is dumb, it wants to get you in trouble, so just go without it...life is a lot less stressful.

Fighting in and of itself is not a sign of a healthy relationship, IMO. It's all about how a couple responds to disagreements.

I'm far from perfect, but like reb,, I've found my life is just easier when I go that little extra step to diffuse situations before they have a chance to escalate.

Lol....yeah....I never bragged about it you retard. I cheated on my husband. ....told him the next day and we ended things. That was 7 years ago. To this day it's the hardest and most regretful thing I have ever done and the only reason I don't hate myself for it is because it made me the person I am today and I love the person and the mommy I have become today. But yeah....sure...say or think what you want.

TF and I have not had an arguement in 2 years. We think it has to do with the widow/widower relationship. Life is too short to have arguements.

I have one rule when arguing with a girlfriend:

1. All arguments must take the form of a rap battle.

For the record, bunt is a handy word to know when seeking a particular rhyme.

I think fighting is not necessary, but if yall never disagree I wonder if you have ever dealt with "tough stuff". Relationships have ended mostly because of how me or the other person dealt with conflict. Same with my sister. You need to know how the other person deals with stuff when he/she is upset with you because it WILL happen.

You'll have to define "tough stuff".
Money? No problems
Kids? No problems
Going out/entertainment? No problems.
Work issues? No problem. I fully understand her situation, and she does mine.
Paying bills? No problem
Having children? Duh!
I'll have to add "former spouse issues". This is a red flag for any widow. If the new SO is overly concerned with your former relationship, RUN AWAY! We each respect that we will always love our former spouse, and will never totally get over the loss, but we never EVER compare one to the other (other than in a joking manner). This is supremely important.

B-1, I wasn't trying to imply that a relationship has to involve a fight, but there are few relationships where two people agree on everything and/or never upsets the other person. If that's you and the fiance, then that's awesome. But for the vast majority of people, their SO will piss them off every once in a while whether it be over something trivial or serious.

I have never had a yelling match type argument in relationships I've been in. But I have disagreed with things my SO did, they've upset me before or I them, and how people handle those situations is telling in my opinion.

I can respect that. I didn't say we always agree, but that we never argue, and it is awesome.

there's a difference between arguing and fighting. I don't like an argument to turn into a fight. But a lack of arguing usually doesn't equate to "our relationship is ok." More likely it means one partner is bottling up their emotions and true feelings, and is afraid to communicate. Some people hold avoidance of conflict as their highest core value. you can bottle it up for a while, but it will come out at some point somewhere. And usually it won't be pretty
