Is it true they are coming out with a new line of receivers soon?

Being a long time Dish Network customer I've noticed that they tend to come out with new models every 12 - 18 months. I know they just came out with the PVR701 model so I wouldn't *think* a new one would be coming out so soon to replace it.

However, their HD (High Definition) model 6000U is old so the rumors you hear could be concerning that. Actually, I think I remember reading that they had a new on around the corner. I wouldn't be supprised if it is a PVR series that is HD capable.

Thay have an 811 and a 921 coming out soon.... the 811 will replace the 6000 Receiver (which has already been discontinued). The 921 will be able to record hdtv. These are the HDTV Receivers only, there are no new plans for non-HDTV receivers.

Check out this link where you will find several threads on the Dish 921. From the sound of it many are upset from the release date not being given out. Apparently it was orignally supposed to be out this Summer but is not going to happen. It may not even happen until next Summer from what some are saying.

I just got a new HDTV for my den and have a 96" home theater system that is HDTV ready. I was hoping to have HDTV coming in my home by years end but this sounds discouraging to me.

The 811 although not officially announced yet is supposed to be announced to coencide with the new hdtv packge dish is rolling out... Will be announced early sept and is supposed to be avaliable in oct.... the 921 is a ways off it seems now.
