Well, which one is the easiest/best route?

We will be leaving from the B/CS area, and Google Maps says it's about a 15 minute difference between routes.

I would say it probably doesn't matter.

Having done that trip several times, I vote I20.
Doesn't really matter as long as you don't have to take I40 through Tennessee. That route sucks.

From B/CS go to Shreveport, I-20 to Atl, then I-85 North if going to Upstate, stay on I-20 if going to Columbia.

Is it still worth going up to Atlanta on I-20? Google shows options to take I-20 all the way to Atlanta, or cut off on US-80 around the Alabama state line.

NEVER TAKE I40 through Tennessee. 500 miles of torture.

I20 is a better drive than I10.

I10 to Jaxville, I-95 to Hilton Head. Don't speed in Mississippi, or after entering Alabama before Mobile, becareful on I95 in Georgia.

Having done this way too much...it all depends on what time you will hit houston baton rouge and atlanta. Meandering through deep east tex isnt bad as long as you dont get lost. If you want to speed like a demon and have a good radar detector... take 10 to mobile and then scoot through atlanta on the loop. Going to jax will take way too long.

Definitely I-20. You go through the shortest part of LA (less crappy roads), the scenery is better, and there are a lot better and more rest stops and convenient gas station locations along the way. Biggest reason for me is timing it right on I-10 to avoid traffic in and near Baton Rouge and New Orleans is a gamble at best.

I-20. After 3 years of taking I-10 from Houston to Jacksonville, FL about every 4 months, I'd avoid at all costs if you can.

I-10 through Louisiana sucks donkey testicles because of when hit Baton Rouge on 12, unless you choose to go through New Orleans (don't). Also gets bad in Slidell as you merge back onto I-10 if you hit it at the wrong time of day. Mobile, AL can be bad as well if at rush hour. The rest is just boring.

I live along I-12 (I-10 extension unless you dip down through NOLA) and with all the construction between Baton Rouge and Hammond there are backups and/or fiery wrecks almost daily. Avoid at all costs.

I-10...

We took I-20 from Dallas to mid Alabama then turned north to Huntsville....straight shot, only left interstate for gas(potty at the same stop)!
