What Dallas restaurants - that are not super expensive - are your favorites?

What kind of food?

Define SUPER expensive

Patrizio's in Highland Park Village is a very good Italian restaurant. You get wonderful atmosphere, but a really cheap menu. Most entrees are under $10.

I am talking about favorites in the "reasonable" price range - ie $10 to $25 (tops) per person. $30 a dinner for my wife and I is fine - but I can't really handle too many $50+ with as often as we like to eat out.

I ditto Patrizio ... good food, atmosphere. Surprisingly inexpensive.

ummm I like Outback steakhouse

Kuby's (german food)is good and not that expensive
down near SMU

For my money it doesn't get any better than cheddar's!

Not exactly Dallas, but I'll always put in a good word for Love and War in Texas (Plano-75 and Plano Pkwy.)

Great Texas food, live music on weekends, huge beers, not a chain.

Campisi's

Patrizzo's is a great choice - Food is great, even the wine is very affordable.

Campisi's

I ate at Campisi's a couple of month's ago. It was just like I remember it from the '70s.

Get the Lasagna, I love it.

Covino's in Plano (SW Independance/Parker)
Italian in the $7-13 range.
BYOB. That is the nice part if you want to enjoy some wine from home without paying a huge markup. Some folks bring in a cooler of beer and/or wine.

Its very casual, but good food.

Get the chocolate chocolate-chip cheesecake!

Boi Na Braza in grapevine colleyville $35-40 I think, all you can eat Brazilian style!!!

I'll echo the Campisi's and Matt's recommendations. Luna de Noche and Mi Cocina are also solid mexican restaurants.

Best Mexican food in Dallas is Herrera's. I've tried them all. Not exactly a place to impress anyone, but great food at reasonable prices.

My favorite is Cafe Amore (Italian). It's actually in The Colony (121 and Main Street). The meals are very inexpensive (<$10). The best part is that it is BYOB. This can save you $$$, since most restaurants charge $8 for a glass of wine. You can stop at the gas station in front of the restaurant and pick up a descent bottle of wine for $15 and bring it in. The service is absolutely excellent there also.
