Judging from the pics MFS posted, college station sure has changed since I was last there.

I don't think most of the people here got the joke between getting a Honda Rebel and a Ducati for a first bike.

Im a Triumph man myself.

I had a Vespa in college, but no license. I only rode it around campus so it wasn't a big deal.

My understanding is its a 1968 Montesa Scorpion 250cc. It was built as more of a dirt bike, but they were pretty good dual purpose bikes, and were popular for Enduro style racing. I figure it'll be good enough to get me to classes and such once it's fixed up, and otherwise get me introduced to motorcycling. Plus it was free, sitting out in a pasture on the family ranch until this weekend when I dragged it into the barn. Lots of cosmetic rust, but everything's still solid, the engine is compressing, and the fuel tank doesn't seem to be rusted through. Next time I'm out there I'll have a new sparkplug, boot, and fuel line, and I ought to be able to get it firing.
