Grampy and Granny

Daddyboy gets my vote.

Mine are grandma, grandpa, grandad and Nana. Nana is because supposedly my brother said that whenever he saw her and it stuck. Sounds stupid if you ask me.

I can say that, I drink Tecate.

Sometimes...they call them variations of mom and dad. It creeps me out. I work with 'inner-city' youth. (I use that term lightly, because they act like it, but it's not really inner-city)

And, not usually. That implies more often than not.

Paternal Grandparents=Grandma Wyrick/Grandpa Jack (Step Grandpa) and Grandpa Bob (Real Grandpa) and we said Mam and Sir to all of our Elders!

My Father has decided he would like to be called BIG DADDY. It is going to be super uncomfortable to tell our kids to "Go sit on Big Daddy's lap and give him some sugar". I guess we just make fun of the name until he decides to change it. My wife's side of the family has a grandmother they called BATHTUB. That's the weirdest one I had heard so far.

My mom desperately wanted to be "TeeMa" because her name starts with a "t" and she thought it was cute. My sister and I shot that down right away because it was dumb and we aren't teaching out kids to say that. She settled on Nanna, thank god.

My niece's MIL wanted to be called KayKay since her name is Kay. The grand kid calls her CaCa. Not quite the vowel sound she was hoping for.

I have a Big Momma and I'm white. I had no idea it was a popular black name until I started teaching and my black students found it hysterical that their white lady teacher had a Big Momma.

My moms grandma (my great grandma) = grandma (or grandma "last name" if we need to clarify) she's still alive
My moms parents = granny and Pappap

My dads mom and step dad = mamaw (pronounced ma'am-aw) and Pappa joe
My dads dad and step mom = grandma and grandpa "last name"

My dad and his wife and grandpa, and grandma "first name"

My mom and her husband are grandma "first name" and grandpa "first name"

Divorce sucks. My parents didn't choose names so they are grandma and grandpa first name

Both sets of grandparents were/are MeMom and PeePaw for me. My sister established that being four years older than me, and I followed suit

My friend's niece and nephew call her parents Ellby and Arby; initials are L.B. and R.B.

I have a poppaw, mamaw dot, honey, and granddad..

My baby has a poppaw, grammy, granddad, and mimi.

I don't think any of those are trashy.

Well I am lucky we didn't have to go through any of that. I am 100% Greek and my wife is 100% Lebanese. So our son has a Papou and Yiayia on my side and a Jiddo and Tita on my wife side. When he has kids I will be a Papou.

I have a good friend whose kids call her dad- Daddy Bob. He insists everyone, including me, call him that. Always makes me feel dirty when I'm talking to him.
