What are the good ones? I will be there Friday night.

I want space and the option of $5 and $10 blackjack tables, but I don't want some hobag on welfare blowing smoke on my chips.

The Horseshoe is pretty good. I won pretty big (for me) the last time I went.

First, there are no good casinos in Shreveport.

Now, the best of the casinos in Shreveport are Harrah's and Hollywood.

The Hollywood was okay, but if you're a table gamer, specifically black jack, the Horseshoe won't do you wrong.

Well the casino's in Shreveport/Bossier City are better than the ones in New Orleans and Lake Charles. The largest is Horseshoe, by far, but it is on the Bossier City side along with Boomtown and Isle of Caprice. Harrahs' and Hollywood are the only two on the Shreveport side of the river. If you want a little night life and not have to cross the river stay on the Shreveport side and go to Harrah's and Hollywood. You can walk back and forth between them, and to alot of bars- live music places. You can't do that with the other three on the Bossier city side, and don't go to Boomtown.

Oh and I am pretty sure most of the boats have a deck that is non-smoking but it is only slots.

i liked the hollywood because that is where we stayed. i loved the big bathtub and the sassy picture of jean harlow on the wall, and the fact that there was a tv-speaker in the bathroom.

we arrived, and everyone else went down and gambled. i stayed up and took a bath, and sang "I am 16 going on 17" in the tub because I was not feeling particularly well, and just wanted to hang out and watch The Sound of Music.

Hollywood been there a few times. Get you drunk on free booze, take your money and kick you out when you yell at the dealer for taking your money and the waitress for cutting you off. The cops are pretty cool though.

yeah we're staying at the holiday inn which I believe is on the Shreveport side.

fignuts, why do you say the horseshoe won't do you wrong re: blackjack?

Hollywood and Horseshoe best bets. But if your going on Friday night, you won't find any $5 tables. You have to be patient to get on the few $10 tables, most will be $25 or higher.

I've just had good luck there. I've been there 3 times and have won $300, $400, and $1,400. I don't go for all the glitz and glamour, I'm your basic gambler. Until I lose there, I won't go anywhere else.

I always start with $200 on the $10 dollar tables. If I get up to $500, I'll pocket my $200 and take my $300 to a $25 dollar tables. This has worked for me. Good luck, no matter where you end up.

Hollywood is the big one. Seems more like a real casino. The rest, you can definitely tell you're on a boat. Plus, I cleaned up on a blackjack table there. If you want a $5 or $10 table, get there early and stay all day. If you want to avoid smoke and welfare cases, go to Vegas.

Fig,

Do you use any kind of progressive betting? (i.e. win and up your $10 bet to $15, then to $25). If you lose take it down to $10.

This way you maximize return on hot streaks and minimize loss on cold streaks. Of course, it helps to win 5-6 hands in a row but this rarely happens...

I do the progressive betting thing. I start out at $10 and then stack a chip or two with each winning deal. After losing a hand, I'll start back at the table min.

I hit a hot streak on a $25 table there and won 8 hands in a row w/ the 8th being a black jack on a $300 bet.

If you play the game by the book, and have a set dollar amount of when to walk away (win or lose), you're guaranteed a good time, and it's hard to lose very much.

That Holiday Inn sucks my friend. There will be a train go by about every 45 minutes and blast it's horn b/c it crosses an intersection with no bar. Just don't plan on sleeping there much!!!

I don't plan on sleeping - I'll be at the tables all night!!!

The rest of my party may be a bit grumpy in the morning though...

Okay.. from someone who used to live there...

Nicest -
1. Horseshoe (jacuzzi suites with 3 tv's in the room
2. Hollywood
3. Harrah's
4. Boomtown

Best place for winning
1. Harrah's (craps/blackjack/slots)
2. Hollywood
3. Boomtown
4. Horseshoe

To stay away from:
Never step foot into Isle of Capri - this place is so rundown...

Screw the casinos. All of the hot action in Shreveport is at The Phillin Station on Kings Highway.

Gotta go to the Horseshoe just bc it is owned by the Binnion Corp. But the best one by far was the Hollywood.
