Do you think it is acceptable to drink a tall boy or 2 on the way from work everyday?

Seems fine to me, but my co-worker and his wife got in a big fight over this. My buddy likes a couple brewskies on the drive home and his wife is getting all pissy and says he has a problem. The dude is not a drunk at all he says he maybe has a few more beers when he gets home and with dinner, but doesn't get wasted every night or anything. Sounds like to me the wife needs to stfu.

a few beers every day? How many is "a few". For me it would be 2-3 which I don't think would be a big deal but for others "a few" may mean 10.

I would say it is okay provided it is not a crappy brew. Would you agree with that?

Nothing wrong with drinking a few on the drive home.

Soooo this is a troll because there is no way a dude drinks a couple beers on the way home from work and then a few more when he gets home??? Is that just completely inconceivable??? Some real morons around here.

If you object to drinking, use an IV bag.

Dude sounds like a functioning alcoholic. I'm fine with the idea of someone drinking A beer on the drive home. But seriously, if he's drinking 2 on his commute, plus "a few more" at home - every day? That's gotta be an alcoholic. A fat alcoholic.

Why? Because he enjoys beer?

I drink on most days and I'm not an alcoholic...

Drinking behind a wheel.

Whoever does this deserves to DIAFOTWH.

This used to be a standard after work practice in Texas before the state was feminized.

If you get intoxicated off one tall boy you don't deserve to drink at all.

5 or 6? Every day?

I don't keep count. Most days it's 1-3. Weekends , it goes up to sky's the limit.

Wife needs to put out more, so the poor boy would not be so stressed to come home to some wife *****ing.

He sounds like a guy who needs to be numbed to his wife's voice. Self Medication!

6 tallboys is equivalent to 8 regular 12 oz beers. That sounds like some of my friends, all who died between the ages of 48-63.
Good luck to your friend.

Idiots, the lot of you.

I've had a couple of beers and driven home, many many times, all sober. But drinking while driving is ****ing stupid. Who's to say you won't keep going until you get a buzz, and before you realize it, you're drunk driving.

Too much of a slippery slope.

it's not a slippery slope at all.

driving drunk = not ok

driving and drinking something = ok

it's pretty black and white.

I'm opposed to the term "brewskies".

Other than that you're good.

Open vodka bottle in the car might be a *little* different than a can of beer.

If you have a problem with it, feel free not to do it yourself. Believe it or not, the kind of people who will drink a couple of tall boys on the short drive home often have quite a tolerance to alcohol, not that it makes any difference in 15 minutes or so. If you live all the way across Houston or Dallas I would understand.

We have a law, if you're .08% you're DWI. If that is the law, then you should be able to drink up until you're .079%. If that is too dangerous, then the .08% is a bad law to begin with and we should fix IT, not add another law.

And no, I don't drink on the drive home. Only into work.
