Would an arranged marriage to Sarah Jessica Parker be a neigh?

None I my slurpee friends have had arranged marriages. They were all born in India an raised all over the world.

I'll feed the stereotype a little with this story. On tuesday I stop to get gas and the credit card thing is broke. I go and ask for thirty dollars worth of gas. The gal then says something back to me that was unintelligible (to me) and I stare at her trying to fogure it out. She says it again a little impatient this time and I eventually say 'oh...Howdy, I'm sorry I didn't hear you correctly the first time'. Finally she says to me and says again what she said the first two times more clearly which is 'thirty?!?' like I'm an effin' idiot. now I've had my share of dot profs back in the day so I contend that it was mostly on her.

Anyway, it's related to this thread because I actually found that gal kind of cute and I left that gas station somewhat aroused and confused because of it. It's somewhat comforting to have read this thread today.

Another of my step-daughter's friends is from India and recently had a baby. She looked amazing right up until the due date. None of the bloating and swelling and looking like she had a disease and no whining and frumping about with bedhead like she was on an episode of COPS. She looked great and took pride in keeping herself looking great.

Arranged marriage would make my life simpler. But it's not like I'm dating now anyway.

I would require a current picture of the mother and grandmother to make sure an ugly gene won't kick in. Don't see too many good looking middle aged Indian ladies running around.

I'm pathetic when it comes to dates. I've been on maybe four. My anxiety and the fact that I am an adult, there is no way I would let my Momma decide who I spent the rest of my life with. He would probably be a little like her. And any similarities are too much.

A guy at my office I'm pretty good friends with did this. He wasn't having luck dating and gave in to his traditional parents. The mom set up some dates for him in India. He left for 2 weeks to meet the girls. First girl he meets he likes so he cancels the other "dates". Comes back to work engaged and she comes over a few months later, they get married and live together (along with his parents, traditional Indian thing) and have a kid.

The dude seems genuinely happy. While he was thinking about we all tries to talk him out of it but it seems to have been for the best.
