I see women all the time literally just glooping the stuff on every day. The missus seriously has several hundred dollars worth of different 'flavors' in her arsenal and is constantly putting in on. Same with the exes. Aand every other young woman I see out there. Granted its an eaasy gift when ya need one in a pinch. Bath and bodyworks giftcards are great.

Yet I look on the back of them and it's all Greek chemicals to me. Is it possible these might have some longterm effects we arent seeing yet? Like Agent Orange??? It doesn't look like it can be too healthy in the end. Just random 2 am curiousity...

If you can't pronounce an ingredient or have never heard of it, then probably yes.

You can make lotion yourself, save money, and know what's in it.

Have you heard about dihydrogen monoxide? I'm doing research on it this summer. Apparently it is largely present in tap water. Its been shown to be toxic if you are drinking tap water constantly. Over 3000 people/year die due to dihydrogen monoxide. Scary stuff...

Can you filter tap water and reduce the amount of it?! Is it only in tap water, not bottled?!

To be honest, I'm not sure if there has been much research on it, but I have heard from my lab coordinator that they have found it in bottled water as well.

Holy sheet...I'm only drinking whiskey from now on, and **** the splash of water. I don't want any dihydrogen monoxide in my whiskey for sure.

Those chemicals we can't pronounce aren't just in lotions, they are everywhere. Take a look at the ingredient list on the back of a bottle of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, baby wipes, anti-perspirant/deodorant, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, fabric softener, aftershave, etc.

Those frozen pizza's, smoked sausage or mozzerella cheese sticks that are in your freezer... Check the list on those. Imagine how many pounds of various preservatives we eat each year. Everything from bread, to chips, to salad dressing has some sort of preservative in it.

I don't even want to think about the pesticides on our produce or the hormones and anti-biotics in the meats we buy.

Lotion, alone, may not give you cancer, but there is no doubt that we run across a number of things that probably will. There is no way to avoid all this stuff at this point in the game. Might as well enjoy you lovely smelling lotion, while you eat your pizza and drink your diet dr pepper with all the chemicals they come with. Heck, you might as well order a some cinnamon sticks with an extra side of chemicals... Uh, I mean... Dipping sauce.

I'm in galveston right now, with all the ships and docks around, it's everywhere. It's scary, def when you go for a run at night.

I've always said that Gatorade is better than dihydrogen monoxide.

Have ingredients changed in the last 5 years? I haven't read a shampoo bottle since I got an iPhone.

I think there has. The EPA has come up with a process to keep it from failing from the sky during the summer months. Their feeling is that summertime is when there is the greatest possiblilty for people to become exposed to dihydrogen monoxide.

Katt +1

It really does pay to make your own everything and grow your own food. It's generally cheaper in the long run as well.

Yes, the long term effects of smelly lotions are that women get bitten more often by mosquitoes.
