• Treyvon walking around a gated neighborhood that has recently suffered burglaries and a shooting in a hooded sweatshirt.
  
  
• Zimmerman spots suspicious character while on watch and calls cops, says he will follow because they always get away.
  
  
• Confronts Treyvon and tries to restrain him until authorities arrive.
  
  
• Zimmerman initiates physical contact, he is heard running on the 911 tape, Zimmerman tackles Treyvon.
  
  
• Treyvon fights back and starts to gain the upper hand, Zimmerman begins calling for assistance, "Help, Help."
  
  
• Zimmerman manages to reach his gun and shoots Treyvon.

That can't be argued. He is entitled to his opinion, even if it is incorrect.

There is no evidence so far to show that Zimm attacked.

i don't really get why people care so much about this one isolated incident... **** like this happens all the time. Why not let the case play out as it may.

BarnacleScaper, you're right. I just think this whole thing is a distraction from issues that are actually important to the future of this country.

The debt. Growing foreign policy problems with Iran and China. ObamaCare Individual Mandate before the Supreme Court.

And all we hear about is an emotionally charged and factually ambiguous case about some kid in Florida getting shot? People get shot for racist reasons or not every day.

No matter what the situation is, 911 operators are required to tell callers to not follow/stay away from the situation to remove any liability from themselves in case you do follow them and end up getting hurt.

The 911 operator is not telling the caller to stay away to protect the suspect. They are telling them to stay away to protect the caller.

WFA- it sounds like you're making numerous assumptions.

My problem with all of this is the lynch mobs on both sides. Unless you were ACTUALLY there, you cannot know what happenned. Whatever actually transpired, a child is dead. Let's grieve. Respectfully. Investigate without making assumptions. Once a thorough investigation is completed, let's work together to make improvements.

Only the attention ho's benefit from such a rush to judgement. Stop feeding the media trolls!!

ZIMMERMAN: He's a (bleep). They always get away.

UNIDENTIFIED MAN: (911 Dispatcher) Are you following him?

ZIMMERMAN: Yeah.

ROSE: Then Zimmerman tells the dispatcher that the suspicious man is running away.


My later points are speculation and opinion, but Zimmerman was tired of these neighborhood criminals getting away, regardless if Treyvon was one or not, he looked suspicious to Zimmerman. And he obviously pursued him.

This is true the way it is written, but doesn't necessarily apply to this case. We do not know who was the aggressor. (I'm also not completely clear on how "the aggressor" is legally defined)

If you follow me and then start the confrontation and I start kicking your ass to the point that you fear for your life, you cannot claim self defense and do not have the right to shoot me.

Listen to the tape.

I did not hear Zimm call Trayvon a coon.
He did say, "These assh***s. They always get away."
He also twice says that Trayvon has something in his hand. We learn this is just Skittles and tea, but Zimmerman did not know that at the time.

The media also loved that Zimm said, "He looks black." They conveniently forget the part where the dispatcher asks him, "Is he white, black, or Hispanic?"
