It's ironic that the staple of christian faith is tolerance and forgiveness, isnt it?
Shouldn't you be busy pitying the atheists and agnostics instead of being angry and not knowing what those terms mean?
It's poetic watching you so called sinners quote scripture to save your soul for a a deity that has as much credibility as superman.
I'd venture to say that 99% or there otherwise overwhelming majority of religious christians and certainly some of other faiths for that matter only believe what they do because their parents taught them to.
You grew up as an impressionable ball of play-dough and you had jesus and god pressed upon you because you had no free will.
You continue to claim those childish learnings today because it makes you identify with a larger group and a greater cause and it gives meaning to life in an otherwise very crazy very unforgiving very uncertain world.
Much like your bed time stories, you hold on to religion and clutch it like your favorite stuffed animal when you were 3. It keeps the bad dreams away. Say your prayers, you'll be saved from hell, live your life to glorify your god. Never question what you believe. Its all you have ever known, so you hold on tightly.
But there are those of us who question everything; there are those of us who dare your god to show himself. It's not that I don't believe in him...i believe in the truth. And until you can show me how a sea can part, how a man can live in a whales stomach, or how 2 of every animal in the world can fit on a boat, i do not believe you.
It's the great uncertainty of life. That's what all this is ultimately about. People are free to believe in what they want so that they may have solace and the sanctity of pseudo salvation.
If you want to get in to the philosophy of it, I've the belief that not every man on earth was created equally and we are all not meant to worship the same god or gods. You can have your belief, I can have mine. We'll deal with the consequences in our respective next lives, wont we brother?
