Anyone like melted plastic?

I finally got a copy of a photo from the melted fiber line at A&M. The reason phone and internet is slow. The repairs are supposed to take 3 months, at least.

Yeah, steam line blew and melted the lines.

The guy who told me was responsible for getting the backups up and running in CS. Said it will take a minimum of 3 months. Something like 5k fiber connections.

Hopefully A&M will now fix steam lines, since this isn't the first time something happened.

As of 8pm last night, 1278 of 1600 total fibers have been repaired (79%).

Sweet!

I was hoping they were fixing it quickier than original estimates. Since the trucks they brought in were from DFW and kinda on a "oh, have them for the weekend" and not "oh, we need them for 3 months".

They pull the fiber bundle above ground and splice it in a specially built truck with a machine that does the splicing.
