Mustang. I weep for you.

You need to go to Liquor Barn a try a bottle of Black Barn. Local and produced by a colleague of mine. Very very good. 15€.

We like the Argentinian Malbecs. Cheap and descendants of the Cahors of France.

What does it matter? If you can't afford at least $25/bottle wine, you're too f'n poor to appreciate the difference anyhow

Merlot

2005 Columbia Crest Grand Estates Columbia Valley Merlot ($11)

This dark Merlot from Washington state is so luscious that it’s hard to stop drinking it. A touch of spicy oak keeps the wine’s Rubenesque fruit from becoming overwhelming.

2005 Lange Twins California Merlot ($13)

A blackberry-inflected Merlot from the up-and-coming Lodi region of California, this red is made with sustainably farmed grapes from some of the 246 acres of vineyards owned by Randy and Brad Lange.

2004 Keltie Brook North Coast Merlot ($15)

For some time, insiders have known that the wines on Steve Macrostie’s primary label, Macrostie, offer great quality for their price. Keltie Brook, his even more affordable second label, gives more of the same value with wines like this refined, cherry-and-black-currant-inflected red.

2005 Raymond R Collection California Merlot ($15)

A quarter of the blend for this medium-bodied, minty Merlot is Cabernet Sauvignon, helping give it more structure and focus than many similarly priced Merlots.

Pinot Noir

2006 Castle Rock Mendocino Pinot Noir ($12)

Castle Rock consulting winemaker August Briggs makes some of the best value Pinots around, from many of California’s top regions. In 2006, his herbal Mendocino bottling shines the brightest.

2006 Mark West California Pinot Noir ($13)

Alex Cose, the winemaker for this bargain Pinot specialist, uses grapes from throughout California—the Central Coast, Sonoma County, Mendocino, Napa Valley and, as the winery puts it, “other”—to fashion a balanced, cherry-inflected red.

2006 DeLoach California Pinot Noir ($13)

When French Burgundy négociant Boisset purchased DeLoach in 2003, they installed Pinot Noir specialist Greg LaFollette as winemaker—a very smart move, as this light-bodied but flavorful bottling makes clear.

2006 Chalone Monterey County Pinot Noir ($14)

High up in Monterey’s Gavilan Mountains, Chalone made its name with pricey estate Pinot Noirs. But the winery also produces a fine bargain Pinot, as shown by this streamlined cuvée, its fruit sourced from vineyards around California’s Monterey County region.

Drop another $4 and get Firesteed. Oregon Pinot > all other Pinot.

You can get a three liter box of Bonny Doon Big House Red for $19. I liked it at $11 / bottle. It can't be beat for that price.

Burnet,

There isn't a wine on your list that was meant to age more than a few years. I would be skeptical of most anything on your list at five or six years old.

Whites

Chardonnay

2008 Luli ($20)
Master Sommelier Sara Floyd teamed up with California’s Pisoni family (of Pinot Noir fame) to make this wine, which emphasizes the fruitiness of its Santa Lucia Highlands grapes and de-emphasizes oak flavors. It offers pure peaches-and-cream notes with a lick of citrus and pear.

Sauvignon Blanc

2008 Hanna Russian River Valley ($19)
Winemaker Jeff Hinchliffe translates the bright fruit character of night-harvested grapes from Sonoma’s cool Russian River Valley into a blossom-scented Sauvignon Blanc with a soft texture and clean pineapple, grapefruit and herbal aromas.

Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio

2008 Sineann Pinot Gris ($18)
Owner and winemaker Peter Rosback delivers a quintessentially luscious Oregon Pinot Gris that lays spicy melon and white peach scents over a delicate floral background. The refreshing acidity gives this wine a special lift and vibrancy.

Reds

Pinot Noir

2007 Siduri Sonoma County ($20)
This entry-level bottling from Adam and Dianna Lee’s acclaimed high-end winery showcases the sophisticated side of Pinot. Juicy, creamy and ripe, with a plush texture, it balances its impressive body with vivid aromatics and a delicate acidity.

Zinfandel

2007 Foxglove ($15)
Bob and Jim Varner of Varner Wine know what’s right with Zinfandel (big flavors) and what’s all-too-often wrong with it (alcohol overload). By sourcing grapes for this second label from Central California’s Paso Robles region and adding in 14 percent Petite Sirah, they have made a tangy red with classic wild berry fruit and a satisfying touch of jamminess.

Merlot

2006 Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells ($18)
The 2006 vintage was a difficult one in Washington’s rugged Wahluke Slope area. But somehow, the unusually cool, wet spring and hot, dry summer combined to produce this gentle, minty, black-cherry-rich red.

Cabernet Sauvignon

2006 Twenty Rows ($20)
This red gives the true taste of Napa Cabernet depth and harmony at an almost forgotten price. Winemaker Brian Nuss rounds out his Cabernet Sauvignon with small portions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The result is a rich but subtle wine, shot through with a dark black-currant fruitiness and nuances of forest floor and green peppercorn.

Syrah

2007 Copain Tous Ensemble ($20)
Wells Guthrie’s stated aim, especially for his affordable Tous Ensemble line, is to produce wines with moderate alcohol levels, specifically crafted for food-friendliness. He fulfills his ambition with this peppery red, assembled with fruit from four well-known, organically farmed Mendocino County vineyards. It’s round and lively, with ripe plum and wild berry flavors.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
This thread is depressing. Why would anyone drink wine if it's cheap and taste like feet, no pun intended to the OP. Yes, there are plenty of decent bottles of good wine for +/- $10, buy random bottles, you just need to figure out what you like, then graduate to nicer bottles, you'll be glad you did.

Luce della Vite, Lucente 2004 (about $28)

Luce della Vite is a joint venture between two of the most famous names in the wine world: the Frescobaldi family, which has been active in the Tuscan wine scene for over 600 years, and Robert Mondavi of California, whose family emigrated from Italy.

The 2004 La Vita Lucente (pronounced lu chen’ teh) is a blend of 50 percent Merlot, 35 percent Sangiovese and 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes come from three different estates and the three varietals are vinified separately, then combined and aged for 12 months in new and used barrels and then spend 8 months in the bottle prior to release for sale.

Lucente is an elegant, complex and textured wine with a welcoming nose, energetic acidity and soft tannins. 2004 was an excellent year in Tuscany and this wine offers great value at this price.

Where can I buy this wine? Available at The Wine Specialist, Circle Wine and Spirits, Rodman’s (’05 vintage), Corridor Wine and Spirits (Laurel, MD), Total Wine and More (’06 vintage) and other area wine shops.

Terrabianca, Campaccio 2005 (about $28)
Terrabianca produces a small number of highly-regarded Chianti Classico wines, such as Croce and Scassino. It also has an impressive lineup of several IGT wines such as Campaccio, Campaccio Riserva and La Fonte that are produced from grapes sourced from both the estate’s Tuscan and Maremma vineyard properties.

The 2005 Campaccio (pronounced com patch cho) is a blend of 70 percent Sangiovese and 30 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine spends 12 months in barriques and 12 months in the bottle prior to release for sale.

The wine is medium to full bodied and is astonishingly rich with luscious berry fruit and soft tannins. The wine exhibits the best of the Super-Tuscan wine revolution in that its generous fruit flavors have international appeal while its body and structure reflect its Tuscan patrimony.

Where can I buy this wine? Available at Total Wine and More, Morris Miller, Pearson’s, Calvert Woodley, Circle Wine and Spirits (’04 vintage) and other area wine shops.

Tenuta Sette Ponti, Crognolo 2006 (about $33)
The Sette Ponti estate lies fifteen miles northwest of the city of Arezzo in the heart of the Chianti zone. The name Sette Ponti translates as "seven bridges" and refers to the seven bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence.

Crognolo (pronounced cro nyoh’ loh) is a blend of 90 percent Sangiovese and ten percent Merlot sourced from 25 to 35 year old vines. It This combination merges the austerity and structure of Sangiovese with the elegance and suppleness of Merlot to yield a firmly structured yet elegant wine. It has a good tannic base and zesty acidity that makes it ideal at the dinner table.

In case you’re wondering, Crognolo is named after a wild bush that grows on the estate.
The 2006 vintage in Tuscany is being touted as one of the best in recent history and while the ’06 Crognolo can be drunk now, it will only improve with additional bottle age.
