I'm waiting at the bus stop on my street, on my way to class. The bus pulls up and the front doors open and I start to walk up the steps when I notice a girl, probably 18 or 19, in the entryway, blocking me from going any further. She suddenly starts yelling at me, "Oh no, you can walk your rude self right back down them stairs and let me off first!" I just stood there for a second in shock, not knowing what to say, and she continued to yell "I said you can move out my way!" before looking over at the bus driver and asking "aint that the polite thing?" The driver kind of looked like he was trying not to laugh and said "Actually the sign says to use the back doors to get off the bus, and the front doors to get on" At this point she rolls her eyes, mumbles incoherently, and pushes past me to get off the bus.

I'm still shocked that someone would behave like that to total strangers...I'm going to go ahead and guess she's not a student at A&M. Can the buses start checking IDs or something?

Just because someone has numbers in their username does not mean it's their class year. I'm class of '11.

Furthermore, I own a car, but it's much more cost effective to ride the bus to campus to avoid spending money on parking and gas, since we don't have the option of not paying for bus services anymore.

WTF would you put a number that's not your class year in your name on a college chat room board site?

I hesitate to say the ethnicity, because I'm not entirely sure it's relevant. She was super skinny, and was wearing a bandanna on her head, and short jean shorts and a black fitted shirt. She was not attractive in the slightest, even if she weren't yelling at me.

and yes, a lot of poors who don't go to A&M, much less graduated from high school ride the buses.
The drivers have the right to ask for ID, so do other members of A&M staff; because they are state property and people with no staff or student id's are technically trespassing, but the drivers don't have the time or ability to do that to everyone.

I'm always caught off guard by things like this too. I had one female yell at me because I stood up and offered her my seat on a crowded bus. Another female told the first one off in a relatively polite way, looked at me and said "I'd love to have that seat, thank you."

No one only gets on in the front door and off at the back. are class of 11 really that stupid to need to be told how to get on and off a bus in an orderly fashion? you WAIT until everyone is off the bus at that stop and then get on, EITHER DOOR. And if that is really what is plaster on a sign I weep for our future.
