Graduated from Cove High in ’02. I lived across the street from the Griffiths and went to school where Mrs. Griffith taught Kindergarten. Just horrible that both of these events happened in the Killeen/Hood/Cove area.

Also, that Luby’s is now a Chinese restaurant.

Apparently my family was going to eat there that day but something happened and we did not. I always have thought that God was watching over us that day. I was too young to remember anything but every time my parents or grandmother talk about it I thank God for his graciousness.

I lived in Cove as well at the time and was in high school. My Dad worked at Fort Hood and was going to eat there that day was some of his coworkers. Amazingly they went to Piccadilly (sp?), another cafeteria nearby that is/was located in the Killeen mall instead, all because on of the coworkers thought Luby's would be crowded.

Hearing the Fort Hood shootings made me think of Luby's immediately.

Yup...that was what I thought of right after hearing about what happened yesterday. Sad, sad, sad.
