I posted on a thread about someone who had just gotten their AgTag last week but I thought I would ask my question here.
I am a former student from the 90's. I also work at TAMU now. I requested an AgTag via the process sending info from my "neo" email account etc.. that was requested.
I got a reply back asking for a transcript. I was fairly stunned that they would actually ask me for that. It took over a week and the fact that a contact at the registrars office used me as "training" to get a transcript free to decide to pursue it.
I sent in the transcript blocking out the majority of the body as I didnt believe the classes I took or grades were their business. Proof of attendance was what they should need and I felt an official TAMU transcript with my name on it was sufficient.
I got a reply back asking to remove the blacked out area so they could see that I in fact took classes at TAMU.
I thought it over and decided that I really didn't care if they knew what classes I took, or when I took them as I had already come this far. I re-editted the scanned image and only blocked out the section with GPA/grades etc...
The reply I got back was that I needed to provide proof positive that the listed classes were in fact taken at TAMU.
HUH? I provide an official TAMU transcript with Texas A&M at the top and the TAMU seal as a watermark. Classes, semesters and the fact that I took tham at the "College Station" campus are listed. Yet this is not sufficient.
I have tried contacting them daily (yes annoying I know but now it is the principal of the thing that has me pissed) with no response. Keep in mind that during these communications the responses came within an hour up until my last query stating that I did not know how else I could prove I was a former student other than providing a transcript as requested. I further asked for guidance on how else I could accomplish this.
I even offered to go to the owner of this domains address at:
Collegiate Commons, Ltd
809 University Drive E
College Station, Texas 77840-2100
and show then the official transcript in person.
No replies.
Anyone else who is a former student have this much trouble? A co-worker who posts here is the one who pointed out the AgTag thing and suggested I send in the email about it in the first place. He is also a former student and was not asked to provide anything other than his email when he got his agtag.
Thoughts or experiences?
