Their billboard says Lu Ann Rewind, and has a cartoon character which resembles Peggy Hill from King of the Hill. I honestly thought it was something KOH related.
Senior Citizens love Luby's because of the quiet atmosphere, the lighting, and the ability to simply pick food that is set out before them. They prefer this to a noisy restaurant with dim lighting and menus with tiny writing.
If you don't know what it is, you probably had no intention of going to Luby's anyway. I go about once a year and was shocked when the Lu Ann platter had disappeared the last time I went. They had also totally changed how the food was laid out and lessened their options.
I went last summer and it was no dice for the Lu Ann. Maybe they were quick to realize their mistake, or perhaps I was at a (particularly) crappy Luby's.
