Wouldn't that be like an English-speaking person saying "good?" when they pick up? I don't get it.

Why do Chinese say `herro?` when they answer the phone?
I think they say something more like " wheno" not "bueno"
it's not bueno as in "good" but bueno
as in "ok, say something"
as in "ok, say something"
Alot of times is sounds like wheno but it is bueno and it is just a shortened way to say their polite daily greetings like buenos dias, buenas tarde, and buenas noche.

I wondered this exact same thing today while driving past "Taco Bueno". After a few minutes of thought, I figured it was a half-azz lazy way of saying "Good day/morning/night."
And to all my Mexican brothers out there, learn English mother ****ers!
