Has anyone ever bought leather sofas from Sams or Costco? The furnature is definantly cheaper than traditional furnature stores such as stars, but I don't know if its cheaper in quality or if it's just that they don't mark it up as much as the other places. Thanks.

I don't think you'd run into a quality issue unless you're comparing to top-of-the-line stuff. They just sell things that they get deals on from the distributors, or can sell for less due to their incredible supply chain.

It's cheap, you know it's cheap, and you're just trying to get someone to support your wishful thinking that it's not cheap.

Not sure about the sofas, but we purchased a really nice kitchen table and chairs from Sam's and are absolutely thrilled with it. Plus we think it is nice quality as well. In fact, we are actually looking at a leather sofa set from them also...

My brother is looking at that ~$1k sofa/chair/ottoman set they are selling right now. I've looked at it and think the quality is quite good. Hard to see what could go horribly wrong.

If you can take a look at the underside of the couch. See how it is constructed. Also look at the sides and back. A lot of leather furniture is only leather on the arms and the cushions and is "pleather" on the back and sides. That may not matter to you, but you may be thinking that it is all leather when in fact it is not.

If you are located in the DFW area, you should check out Stacy furniture in either Grapevine or Allen. We bought our couches and a leather chair there. Our's are Lane and we have been very happy with them. They also offer a leather protection plan that is so worth it. They will fix or replace the furniture if there is a tear in it no matter what the cause. They also replaced all of our cushions right before the 5 year warranty was up. The padding tends to compress and is not as comfortable after a while. After replacing the cushions it was like having a new couch. I don't know if Sam's or Costco offers anything like that.

Just some things to think about.

Today, I'm strolling through Costco, and I see my living room set. We purchased a leather Natuzzi (good brand) couch and loveseat at Dillards. Almost 2 years later, it has shown up in Costco. FWIW, the quality seemed to be identical to the authentic one we had purchased. Do a little brand research on what they are selling, and you may come out ahead.

We bought Natuzzi leather sofa/LS/chair and ottoman in May of 2001...well made, huge, comfortable. Hubby chose dark brown with large nail heads for the Pub look.

All leather everywhere, extra support in middle of three section sofa. Furniture stores in D/FW, Austin and Waco wanted over $2000 so we got it at Sam's for $1400 I think it was, may have been $1200.
