Not in the slightest.
It just depends if your barber has a lot of experience giving straight razor shaves. I've had a few done by my barber, and I can barely feel the razor on my face. It's also the closest shave I've ever had.

i really think it depends alot on the barber. had one in new braunfels that was pretty good. had one at floyd's 99 barbershop in austin and it wasnt so good.

i'd like to try one i just never know a good place that i could trust
how much does this cost? how often do people do this? I mean, it seems kind of silly to pay someone to do something that costs nothing to do yourself, like paying for a haircut when you just have a 1 guard cut.

If I could afford it, I would do it every day. I don't know what it costs in BCS, I've never been to a barber around here. Back in Kingsville, I could get a haircut and a shave for $20 including a nice tip.

If you find someone who does it right you'll be hooked. When I worked full time I got a straight razor shave twice a week. The best shave you'll ever have.
