Great. Now we have so many whiners here, we need to start shipping them out of state.

I have a bottle of Bonfire Blush from Messina Hoff...it is a '99. I will never drink it.

I don't think Indiana allows out of state wineries to ship into IN. Maybe you could go through wine.com and get some Texas wines.

The Fall Creek Vineyards Meritus is very good, their other stuff is average at best.

I had some Flat Creek Super Texan the other night and thought it was pretty good.

It's pretty much all average. Best I've had was a "Super Texan" from Llano Estacado (most of their stuff is very average, so this surprised me). I took it back to California to the winery I was working for at the time, and served it blind to everyone. They all thought it was an Italian Super Tuscan (the style the Texan is emulating).

Sort of off-track I know, but that's the best juice I've found from Texas.

See if the Val Verde Winery ships out of state. When my husband was stationed there it was our favorite (and almost only!) place to take our out of town visitors. They have a really good port at a very reasonable price.

Dry Comal Creek from just North of San Antonio. Cab is awesome, Merlot is really good. The French Colbard(bone-dry)is the only white that we drink.

Try to find these if you can:

I think most Texas wines are pretty bad, but these really stand out.

Beckett from Fredericksburg, particularly the Claret, is fantastic.

What types are you looking for? I do a lot of Texas wine research for the Department of Ag.

Becker's my favorite in Texas. Good call on the Claret. They also have a reserve cabernet that is awesome.

Fido98's house Cabernet isn't too shabby either. Alas, Texas Laws don't allow me to sell or ship it.

Oh yeah, just thought of Sister Creek Vineyards.

I've tried many and have found my favorite by far are the ones from Fredericksburg Winery. Theirs is the first wine I've had that I can actually enjoy from start to finish and even though they are just a bit pricier, they are so worth it.

Bringing the red pill to the masses.

the only stuff I've really actually liked from Texas is the Tawny Port. The climate here seems so hot for a lot of the grapes in the more mainstream wines and you can taste it when you uncork a bottle.

MHLY Texas wine is a big interest of mine.

I took the fall of 06 off and worked for Pisoni Vineyards and Winery in California.

Figuring out how to make GOOD Texas wine is something I've thought about pursuing.

If you have an good email to get in touch with you and you're as involved as you sound I'd love to talk about it.

sorry, Becker. I've never bought it but have had it served multiple times to me at parties.
