All,

With all the 5x/6x face going on etc, here in the forum and on the secondary market, I wanted to post this. I've bought tickets to bigger sporting events than this one numerous times over the years, UNC/Duke final four, UNC/Duke at Cameron, Game 7 World Series and so on, and have done so 1.5 hrs before kick or tip off in some instances. Unless you're looking for large groups etc, wait until next week and start looking. No need to stress over it right now. Tickets will fall and they will be available. People that need their plans all buttoned up 10 days prior to the event are being taken advantage of right now and are paying higher prices. sit back, relax, and take another look middle of next week. You will still pay more than face value, but 2x 2.5x will be available and plenty of them. Felt like posting as I see some frustrated Ags and I'm one of them, but you will have options next week. I'm looking for 6 myself, and trying to avoid dipping into my 401k!

How did that strategy work out for 2024 t.u game?

How about even this year when prices were going down for t.u game but then day of went right back up?

South Carolina this year being 11am must have been a super cheap ticket right? Nope…2 hours before kick tickets had dried up and $$$

That strategy works a lot, but this isn't the same as your examples above and isn't just some random game either.

I was able to get a last minute ticket to t.u. for less than 300.

I've always bought tix on Texags the Thursday before the game and got a very fair price. This year was no exception. The only caveat is scammers so beware. ( Ask me how I know)

Id recommend get half the tix you buy, pay half, get the other half and then pay your last half.
Also actually speak to the seller, don't just text.

Probably a good general rule but yeah this isn't always the case. CWS game 1 last year is a good counter example. Thats a much smaller venue than Kyle so the ticket supply was much less, but there was also less demand then there will be for this.

Any advice on sniffing out/avoiding scammers?

CWS a big difference as well since plenty of the tickets are held by locals who if the price is right will sell. So always extra supply. Aggies and other fan bases in general buy before boarding their flights so late demand isn't as big compared to events where people can decide late.

This is biggest game at Kyle Field with millions of people living within driving distance who are Aggies, fans of A&M, or want to see a big game.

If weather holds up, $300-400 to get in could look like a steal.

Be very very skeptical. If they're pushy at all, walk away. If they don't type normal English, walk away. If they say they can't do XYZ because they're at the hospital or some other odd excuse, walk away. If they say they're "cstat07" on TexAgs, tell them to post on your thread. Your best bet is to check the profile of a seller who has posted tickets and make sure they've been a reliable seller in the past. If they are a rookie, I would walk away unless you feel like you know what you're doing. People who always see the best in people get scammed the most.

As for pricing, I expect it will be cheaper next week than it is today but there's a definite chance it increases near game time if past big games are any indication. This one is odd timing with Christmas but inventory isn't great right now. There will be more when the nosebleeds from yesterday hit SeatGeek and I would expect nosebleed prices in particular to drop.

Worked out fine! Thanks! I didn't pay 5x, which is out there now. It's worked for me always, I also like to gamble, some people can't stomach it. Good luck

The price will absolutely drop. This is an historic game and many of us really want to be there. That said it was a last minute 11:00am game during the holidays. The reality is that any Aggie fan will watch the game, but TV may have to suffice. I offered two tickets to my brother (who sat through the WHOLE 0-77 game in Norman) and despite wanting to be there with every bit of his being, he just can't. Many out of town are in the same boat with the holidays.

The perception is that "the market" is the prices on StubHub/SeatGeek/TA, but the market is not what people ask for something, it is what someone is willing to pay. After watching 4 days of this craziness, most of those tickets are not actually selling. When the price lowers to a point where people are willing to buy then they will sell. Every day that goes by less people can make it here and the demand will lessen. I just saw the same thing happen with the SEC championship game.

Yup That demand will fluxuate as the game approaches. External factors can alter demand too - weather, injury reports, Miami not using their allotment, prices will drop as demand wanes.

With 100K+ seats and an unattractive early start, ticket prices are bound to drop so be patient. But it's still surprising to see how high the prices are from fellow Ags.

Just watch the number of listing in SeatGeek. Currently, that number is still going up, not down. If that number starts dropping quickly then prices may start to go back up. Otherwise, they should continue to drop. There are more listings out there now than there have been for just about any game this season

There are often 2,000+ pair at this time. There are 1,090 on SeatGeek. I do think the number is artificially low on SeatGeek since a lot of tickets can't be listed on there yet. Here is a screenshot of the sip game from the Tuesday before the game. Those didn't drop much.
