The Aggies take on Pepperdine at 6:00 pm today at the Mitchell Tennis Center. I realize that many are out of town or have other obligations on this holiday week-end, but if you are anywhere near CS tonight, please stop by the courts and help the guys. Pepperdine lost to Texas last night in Austin, and I am sure they will not be in the best of moods. We have a number of injuries which have cropped up and I am told that John Nallon has to sit out this match as his total matches is pushing the NCAA limit. Regardless, we are playing at home and have had two phenominal matches over the last three days. Beating Pepperdine looks no more improbable than Illinois and Baylor. Gig em.

Will be entertaining, but they are a tough matchup for us.

I would love to watch that match. Our guys are building some confidence, and that might take us over the hump tonight, despite not being at full strength.

Gig 'em Ags.

Looks like it will be competitive. Our #1 doubles beat their #1 (who are ranked #1 in the country), we lost at #2 and the #3 looks like a dogfight, lost 9-8, doubles point to Pepperdine.

Raven....I was at the Texas vs Pepperdine match last night and in my estimation it was the most over powering match the Longhorns have played in a number of years. The Waves have a fine team. Horns fought off three match points as 3 doubles before a huge backhand winner by Helgeson to take it to Match point for Texas. Service winner up the middle by Travis cinched the win. Texas won at 5 and 6 singles in less than an hour. o and 3 and 1 and 1.

Horns up 3-0 in 60 minutes. #1 cinched it for 4-0 win. Played out at 5-2. Hope to see you in Austin next weekend..

Can someone explain what exactly happened in the tiebreak at #3 doubles? I didn't get to see the controversial inbounds/out of bounds call because someone's head was in the way, and then I had no idea what was going on as they ran to get "Sarah."

Losing that match was tough - serving for the match at 7-5 and then having 6 match points on their serve (2 at 7-6, 4 at 8-7 after going to 0-40), and then double faulting on their match point in the tiebreak.

On the bandwagon since birth. Raised in the bleachers of Kyle, Olsen, and G. Rollie White

The loss came down to that controversial doubles point. tu is a much better match up for our squad.

J Mc played one heck of a day in doubles and the singles match against an incredibly talented opponent. My first ever aggie tennis experience was a good one to grow on.. looking forward to many more!

AgSince83,

The best I could tell is that the Ags questioned the line call in such a way that the chair ump assessed us a 1 pt penalty. That made the score 2-1 Pepperdine. Having picked up 2 pts on one service pt, the Pepperdine coach felt that it should still be Pepperdines serve. Since the Ags served the first point, the fourth point should go back to them, and that's the way it was ultimately ruled.
