I know not many of you follow the sport of mountaineering, but just a brief update for those of you who are interested. Ed Viesturs is currently on Annapurna. The 10th tallest mountain in the world at 26,545ft. If he successfully summits he will be the first American to summit all of the 8,000 meter peaks without the use of supplementary oxygen.

Side not I was Annapurna in 2002, and I have to say that it is by far the most dangerous mountain I have ever seen in my life.

Congrats, this is a huge day in american mountaineering. Ed has become the first American to summit all 14 8,000 meter peaks with out the use of supplmentary O2. For those of you who don't know anything about mountaineering this would be the equivent to Lance winning 7 tours.
