Did anyone see what the ISU coach had to say about our fans this weekend....and about "the jiggler" in particular. There is an article on the front of the Eagle sports section.

She called us "dumb farmers" or something like that after Saturday's game. There fans started yelling at us during Sunday's game.

She doesn't like it cause some of here...uh...larger players are singled out for some rubbing, yet denounces the jiggler? Wonder if she'd feel the same if some regular guys were doing the same thing? What about some really hot guys?

I've got to admit, I agree with her on some of the stuff. I wasn't at the game, so I don't know what was said. Sounds like some people were commenting on some of the girls' weights. That's unacceptable. It's fine in baseball but not here. Yeah, that's a double standard, but that's just how it should be.

As for Nate, I liked him in basketball. I wish he'd stay there though. There's only so much you can take.

well i think it comes down to the fact that women really don't understand heckling. guys love to ride each other and make it an artform sometimes.

women often times "get their feelings hurt", whatever that means.

I don't remember hearing any comments about players' weights where I was sitting. That's unacceptable heckling and should be condemned by any Aggie who hears it. However, the people near me were doing nothing wrong and getting yelled at by ISU coaches and fans.

What a bunch of freaking pansies! If there were weight comments that needs to stop, but the rest of it is fine. My God, the woman complained about Jiggly Puff. If we live in a world where a 300 pound man can't take his shirt off and girate to distract opposing teams then I'm outta here. Somebody takes herself way to seriously. We're distracting from their learning experience? No s**t. That's the point.

OK, I was at the game so let me give ya'll some real info.

1) I didn't hear a person call a player fat, obese or make any comments about their weight. What did happen was several players strolled to their positions (yes, skinny ones too) and they were told to hurry up. The Pitcher (who was skinny) was the worst one about taking her sweet time.

2) I didn't hear a person call a player a lesbian or any sexual comments. That wasn't mentioned in the article and I can safely say that it didn't happen.

Now what did happen
1) Coach Crowe called out the students sitting behind her dug out, whom I know and trust would not yell anything offensive. She literally wanted to pick a fight with them (She called them out and told them to come on the field). They told her that it was just a game and she needed to chill.

2) The Pitcher is the one that is yelled at, but what is yelled is her name, usually before the pitch

3) Coach Crowe, yelled something at our dug out after a call. Coach Jo called it "frustration" but I would call it classless immaturity.

4) Their players cussed alot, that was were most of the heckling came into play, telling the coach that she needs to control her student-athletes and that type of behavior will not be tolerated at A&M.

5) The coach herself was a VERY BAD coach with an even worse attitude problem. Most of the coachs afterward smile or will wave out to the crowd as the crowd applauds everyone after the game. But she is looking for anyone that will listen to her (Cessna being the only one).

TO REVIEW
Nothing was mentioned about weight, sexual orientation, and there was no cussing (that I heard, I was right behind the jiggler).

Coach Ruth Crowe was the one making most of the obscene comments, the rest being from the players from the Iowa State team. She called us stupid farmers after Saturday and insulted Coach Jo by blowing her off after the game when Coach Jo went to shake hands.

Oh, and last but not least, more energy WAS spent in cheering for the Ags, trust me. It was an amazing ending to an amazing game!

funny how the lezbo insults the "fat" A&M student calling him obscene, while she gets upset that we supposedly made fun of her jefty girls. So is it ok to ridicule an A&M student in the press for being overweight?

yeah, it's obviously a case of being a sore loser. i'm sure she's used to attending softball games where there's no one in the crowd and the fact that the crowd was getting in her teams' head and that they got swept couldn't help. she sounds like a complete loser, and cessna should probably get the full story before he goes and puts something like that in the press, especially since he's inferring some classless behavior on our part. the only thing we have as fact is that our shirtless guy was out there, and if that's a big deal, you really need to get over it.

Surley - Thanks for the clarifications. Now that any worries have been alleviated, keep up the good work.

I had a contact point with Coach Crowe after Saturday's (9th) game.

My daughter was waiting in line to get autographs of the Aggie players. I was standing well off to the side of the autograph area. Eventually, Coach Crowe and her team made their way out of their clubhouse towards their bus. I sought Coach Crowe out and told her (sincerely) that her pitcher had played very well and should be complemented. What I got in return was a scowl, a rude comment and a brush off with her right arm.

If the woman wants to bark about sportsmanship, class, etc., then she needs to look in the mirror.

I was at both games.

Didn't hear ANY insults directed at the visitors or their coach. What I DID hear was the starting pitcher (Katy??) flingin' the "F" word along with her glove when she got pulled in Sunday's game.

Jiggler was phone-cammed by the pitcher's mom (momma was bigger than The Jig by the way) then she popped off that she was sending it in to the NCAA. Jiggler, un-phased, returned in the next inning with a marks-a-lot and drew a huuuuuuuge target around his enormous navel.

The ISU coach got sand in her shorts in the top of the 7th when a fly ball to right, with a runner on, sailed just a few feet foul... from her vantage point at 3rd, it may have looked fair... from MY view, down 1st base line, it was clearly FOUL. She screamed and begged for a home run that would have put ISU up by two. She turned to the Aggie dugout and shouted something at the bench and then waved off the fans in that area.

After we took the game in the extra inning, she stood near the on-deck circle and pointed a couple of guys then called them out while she pointed to the ground in front of her.

The most I heard from the fans was an occasional "Caaaaw-Caaaaw".

Helluva show for $5 bucks!

THESE are the sporting events I live for! I can't believe I missed this one. I think I would have gone down to talk to her if she beckoned for me; is it legal to come onto the field of play after a game if given permission by one of the participating coaches?

The more and more I read about this from folks that were there and from Byrne himself, the more convinced I am that the ISU coach is the one with the problem, and that tool Cessna is an ignorant hack who is just looking for any dirt that might cast a bad light on the school that he covers.

Doesn't Cessna realize who his paper is trying to sell to???
Not that I want smoke blown up the kazoo...but that has to be the worst article I've seenn him write...and that is REALLY saying something from all the mindless dribble I've seen from him over the years...
