Going to the swimming and diving event tomorrow morning. Never been to one - anyone have any advice? Open seating? Parking in WCG I assume? good/bad for kids? etc etc etc

Tomorrow is another Ring Day so just note there will be more traffic than a normal non-home football Saturday. Open seating at the Natatorium, it's a fairly kid friendly environment, although meets can be longer than you think and it's indoor pool so it can be warmer than would expect.

I actually disagree with this take with Blaire personally. For one, at the meet they had like 15 swimmers sitting out, but also their team is recruiting phenomenally, but high school swimmers commit at the beginning of junior year so it takes a while to build up a program. That is just my take; I was a swimmer, and I have multiple friends competing at schools like SMU, Georgetown, Texas, and UCLA, so I have a rough idea of what makes up a swim program. It is not like basketball or football that you can rebuild in a year or two.

Why were the 15 athletes sitting out?

Is fielding a full squad not the responsibility of the head coach all of a sudden?

Recruiting phenomenally? No.

Swimming is not the same as football, so for the first dual meet of the season in November, not everyone will be competing.

Not all 2028 commits are on SwimCloud yet since it takes time to populate, but the ones that are listed are already showing multiple top 100 national recruits, and the 2027 class has several as well including number one state ranked swimmers from multiple states. The full picture will be even clearer once all commits are listed.

I understand this, but compare this to Texas, Indiana, ASU, Virginia Florida, NC State, Georgia, Alabama, Etc

This is the first full recruiting class for this coaching staff to get to campus. The recruiting has been dramatically improved, especially on the women's side compared to the 4 years prior to their arrival. The true freshman swam really well at this meet especially for a first college dual meet. In fact two freshman won events.

It's disappointing to have that many out for any meet. I understand sitting people out for a lesser-than meet, especially if they had a long summer -- but Georgia isn't that kind of meet. I certainly hope they aren't all out due to injury.

Glad to hear recruiting is ticking up though. I miss us being competitive.

Atm needs to get serious about winning everything and not just one or two sports. Why even fund a program at all if you suck and choose coaches who also suck. She sucks. And Texas has well you know...so infuriating.

The women's team is just not relevant. With the men losing all the top scoring athletes, they too will suck

I am an Aggie. I also have a son who swims at a top 10 college swimming program. During his recruitment, I couldn't even get my son to consider A&M, and with what has transpired over the last few years, I couldn't blame him. He grew up rooting for the Aggies and would have been a star on the team. Sucks that they have let the program struggle so badly.
