My take: Your logic is completely aligned with what a massive portion of the fanbase is calling for right now. Moving on from Mauricio Pochettino to hand the reins to Mikey Varas would signal a total shift toward a fearless, modern identity rooted in American player development.
Varas is an American, and coach of San Diego FC.

My problem with Poch is that he basically puts us head to head style wise with European and SA teams that have better players to execute it. It's amazing to watch against lesser teams, but play any of the big boys and we get crushed. Hate Bradley, Gregg, Arena all day, but they understood you need a contrary style to those teams until (if ever) the talent evens out. And all those guys had better wins than Poch.
Jmo.
