They've been using his age against him for YEARS in recruiting yet we won the whole thing last year. They also used to use an essentially all-white, all-male staff against him for years too. You always want to hire the best person for the job but you're fooling yourself if you think that stuff doesn't play a factor in some kids/parents minds in a sport like T&F. It's been nice to see him adjust a little the past few years. I think it's helped some, particularly on the women's side.

Also, he doesn't need to be a 'machine'. When I read that kind of stuff, I honestly think it's pretty disrespectful to the rest of the staff. He has some really great assistant coaches who do a lot of the heavy lifting in both recruiting and coaching. As long as he occupies the chair and makes the big decisions, he has those assistants in place to continue to be effective. They deserve their due too. It's not just him.

The program as a whole is a machine

Coach Henry will be 75 years old next month. It's time for a new head track coach at A&M.

75 is old, but how do you tell the greatest college track and field coach of all time (37 National Championships) to leave if he still wants to be here. I listen to his weekly interviews, and to me it's obvious he still loves it; although I would not mind if he quit saying track is an an outdoor sport. I love the mayhem of an indoor meet.

Given the large amounts of money spent on our track facilities in the past years, we have under achieved. Coach Henry may have a lot of titles from years ago but only 1 title since 2017 which was shared at either SEC and NCAA Outdoor championship competition. Meanwhile our volleyball and women's tennis teams have won combined outright multiple SEC or NCAA championships with inadequate facilities as compared to our competition in the past few seasons.

It's infuriating how tennis has gotten zero love, no pun intended.
