Nicole played through the injury all last season. She chose not to get surgery during the summer and the fall, but chose to do surgery a few weeks before the start of the spring season.

I was told that Nicole hardly picked up a racket since the NCAA finals match against Georgia and did not practice with the team for the entire fall semester.
