Exactly!!! I was expecting individual graphics for each athlete, every other sport got a write up, except track and field! They deserved to be shown off! It's a disservice to the kids who work their whole lives and dream of this moment

How does our class stack up so far? Seems very small.

Not so great, but it seems a lot of schools are being very selective nowadays, especially with the portal! The girls class looks really solid so far, Bendet and Nunez are amazing and a 13'5 pole vaulter is great! I'm assuming we will add some portal runners, and hopefully some that can come in and be ready to compete in January like Jaqualon Scott last year! And there's always rising seniors who excel senior year and we can go after! Still early to tell, but I hope we can add more on the guys side! We only have 1 boys shot/disc thrower and we really need to add short sprinters and a hurdler to replace Schulman as well as Scott after this upcoming season!

The transfers we signed over the summer have more 2 years of eligibility, right? Thinking of Jasmine Montgomery, Latasha Smith, Winny Bii.

Yes I think so! The one I'm surprised that left was Semira Killebrew, but she's not using her extra year. So we have Dickson, Brie Bullard, Jazmine Montgomery, I'd assume we use Latasha Smith here on the sprint relay but I'd rather get another sprinter so Smith can focus on the 400. Unless Jada Campos takes a huge step forward.

I also think Timara Chapman has another year of indoor eligibility which would be awesome! Unfortunately I don't think anyone can come close to Arkansas though team wise, they got even stronger

I think Killebrew and Chapman are both out of eligibility.

I just assumed Timara Chapman had at least one more season of indoor or something, but I suppose she's just training here then!!

If Coach Henry had his way, there would be five SIDs covering the track/xc team! haha
There have been a few changes in the AthComm department throughout the past few years and the current XC/TF SID is also working with Vball. I'd imagine it's very overwhelming working two in-season sports (and another out of season - t&f) at the same time... In my head there are two sides: While yes, it is their job to get all of these things done, I think we can also be somewhat understanding and patient considering how much is on their plate.
I definitely understand and relate with the disappointment about a lack of content, especially when thinking about the athletes themselves. Though I am more patient and optimistic than most, also with some experience in the SID world, so it's easier for me to have grace through the disappointment!
I love and appreciate yall's passion for the sport, just wanted to share my perspective as well!

Didn't know they split up the sports like such! The official statements and SID stuff is understandable, but I just want like a couple pictures of practices or meet days lol! Thanks for your perspective!!

That isn't the one person's fault. That is on the athletic department to hire more people to get it done.

Can we just not recruit enough top runners? Who does that fall on? I feel like our cross country program is ok being mediocre. They seem content

Cross country scholarships are shared with the maximum for track and field. So it's up to a head track and field coach to determine how many scholarships he wants to give to distance runners that run cross country. Some schools will refuse to give scholarships to any distance runners while and focus on the sprinters and field events, while some schools load up on both. Historically, we've hardly focused on distance recruiting. And although it was a rough year, I believe our cross country programs have been improving, especially among in state talent. We can recruit well, but another school can just add an older international athlete to ultimately make their team more of a contender.

How does Arkansas do it? They do enough to be a top 25 cross country team and still win nattys in track

NIL and they offer in state tuition to anybody, especially athletes
