Wish may already be granted; Henry has already put forth an effort to go back and get an ole running mate of Camryn Dickson from high school. She has options but has expressed an interest and has talked to one of our short sprinters. Of course, as I mentioned a couple years back, we lost this athlete to our then recruiting and sprint coach at the time (forgot his name but he went on to Illinois). So we may have a shot at Jasmine Montgomery. We are also recruiting a short burner sprinter from UCF but I don't know the level of progress on that other than we have initiated conversations to get her( idk the name though). Help may be on the way and may have already been solidified twice over from the portal.

Very grateful that the team was safe last night. That storm in NW Arkansas that produced 8-9 tornadoes sent one tornado one highway exit north of the hotel where the team was staying. They lost power about 2am and all huddled into one room together. Terrifying few hours watching the news and weather radar but in the end, the Lord protected them all and they are headed home. Kennedy Wade split 50.high indoors last year at nationals and was never the same since. Yesterday was her best split since then and she ran agressively and not passively when the high stakes were put upon her. This run showed me that she is not injured but that it has just been a mental barrier in her mind. She now is reminded she does indeed have the foot speed to run fast as long as you get out aggressively. 51.3 is very respectable but as mentioned is not on the level of the Houston girl at 50 high BUT I am confident it is in her to go sub 51 again.

The women's 4x400 hasnt put together a complete team effort as of yet. They ran 3:28 indoors so they are quite capable of being way better at the national meet.

MaeMae only ran a 50.7 split. She ran 50.3 outdoor last year which would equate to 50 flat on the fly. Assuming improvement in strength and speed this year we should expect her capable of 49.high (subtract 1 sec).

As already mentioned Wade has the foot speed to go 50pt. Staying in the mindset to grind with those other legs will bring out the best in her (subtract .5 = 50.8 split)

Jadyn Wood, bless her heart, is beating herself up about her progress this year. Stay confident as you are obviously way stronger this year than last year at Ohio State when she ran 51.high open. She just needs to learn to carry the bulkier weight from last year and only time can do this but assuming she makes the connection in two weeks: (subtract a marginal improvement of .3sec from last year's open leg=51.4

Nissi Kabongo always seems to not feel well when time to run the 4x4 and Henry always defers to Camryn. Nissi has had way better splits by 1 1/2 sec and Cam's 53.1 split won't get us on the podium. Nissi has given us 51 splits which Cam hasn't but I actually have felt all along that Cam is a tornado waiting to happen. I fully expected her to run 50 point this year before the year started. She is as strong and faster than Laila Owens but hasnt tapped into the confidence to know NOONE should walk away from her over the 1st 200 meters. Laila was a beast in this aspect with her 22.5 200 speed and Cam is right there but even faster than Laila over 100 m. Hence I expect if Cam runs nationals and if she can get out of the psyche zone she can tap into a modest very modest 50.6(though she should be a sub 50 leg for us right now).

3:22.6 Our physical ability warrants this is possible but we are fighting ourselves mentally. Our squad has been content to run with their competition instead of run away from them and that is a mental fear of lack of confidence in our ability to not die on the homestretch. Bring out the assasin in us and this is not a stretch. Though only a few tenth from our all time best, Jaevin Reed ran our slowest leg 51.high on 3rd leg but no one should run slower than that on this team. Keep in mind this is a mental barrier more so than physical as we could physically run faster than this with our enitre squad simply running what they have in the past the only exception being Camryn who has never run s sub 52... YET!

No news on that front but A&M should be in the running next year again even without any help at all. Hope we do get some upgrades or consistency of talent manifestation as I don't know what is going on with the men.
