Of note! Saturday will be the season openers for Ushan Perera and Sam Whitmarsh! Two Ags who have national scoring potential but have dealt with injuries! Also making his Aggie debut is Pierre Goree! Former 2022 High School National and State Champ in the 100 who has a PB all conditions 10.08 and legal 10.22 who gave up the sport to pursue football! He's an Ag and I'm excited to see what he's going to do!

In addition, Goree is listed as a Jr. That can't be correct. He has never run track in college and has only been out of HS since 2022. He was on a football scholarship at SMU in 2022, but did not attend college in the Fall of 2023.

So both days are technically under the same meet name, however both days have different schools competing! Today is a group of smaller schools and Saturday will be bigger power 5 schools! Since there aren't many indoor tracks across the nation especially Texas, a lot of schools will host back to back days giving the smaller schools an opportunity to compete! Like New Mexico JC, Western Texas College and some smaller state schools!

Landon Helms cleared well over 17 in the pole vault in high school, he's not close to 15 this season, I wonder what's going on there

I have no official information about why but to me he looks a little heavier than last year. Maybe that's from his training for all the events he has gained mass. Your weight in vaulting is very important.

That's what I think as well, his shot put has increased! Maybe the improvement will be much more visible! #trusttheprocess

Actually for girls, it's the same exact weight in high school that it is in the college and professional level! Only the guys go up in implements! However, getting use to the indoor shot put does take some time as it's a different feel! But she's been improving almost every meet and it's been a while since we've had anyone over 50! I hope she can continue to improve! She did throw 53'3 for a PR in high school, but had quite a few meets under 50, so I think she has progressed some! I also don't know how she looked, that was on attempt 1 and she fouled the rest so she potentially could have had some huge fouls!

6'0 for Nissi Kabongo, Ushan Perera jumps 7'2.5 and misses 7'3.75! Hopefully it was a short approach as he's just getting back from injury! Glad to have him back!

Wow! Avery Perkins goes 4:50 in the mile! That's a 6 second Pr from high school! Elise Smoot goes 4:51 for a PR! Kennady Fontenot goes 4:52 for a PR showing her range! Austin Owen also PR'd with a 4:57! Great showing for the distance divas!

I don't ever remember us having 4 runners run a sub-5 mile in a section.
