Ya know, if I'm reading this right, Bowman's DQ is the racing gods making things right because if Logano hadn't lost the 5 playoff points that Austin Dillon cost him by railroading him at Richmond Bowman wouldn't have been in anyway.

Right, I'm talking about yesterday and advancing to the round of 8. If Dillon doesn't purposely wreck Logano at Richmond, Joey maintains those 5 playoff points he would have earned and Bowman wouldn't have caught him yesterday.

Karma for Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon at Richmond a few years back.
HMS declined to appeal. They said they just cut it too close.
Bowman was +26 over Logano going into the race. Logano was +17 in points earned during the race, so the margin was Bowman +9. Those 5 points still leave him short of Bowman.

I don't know I'm just repeating what Jeff Gluck wrote in The Athletic. Don't the "playoff points" earned in regular season races calculate different?
The points reset each round with the exception that the bonus points are added on to the reset, so Logano would just get those additional 5 points. He'd still be short of Bowman by 4, but ahead of Reddick by 1.
