I can still remember watching Sr hit that wall at the 500 and thinking that's a nothing hit, only to find out that it was so devastating. This was so much worse and yet the engineering and seats/HANS systems are so much better today.

The review of the finish of Burton going below the yellow line. It was determined he was pushed below it. But also, I would think, as the leader, you are good to go below the yellow line because you are not making a pass below it.

Next week could be interesting. Normally the Southern 500 is won by an experienced and good driver. But Erik Jones has won twice in the last 5 races. Imagine the chaos if he won again. Or someone else out of the blue.

That's the yellow line rule. I think the 2nd sentence needs updating or clarification to say "improve or maintain"
Maybe it's just the fact that I watched the race on the NBC app, but that telecast was brutal. The announcers were great, but way too many side by side commercials. Probably works okay for a road course or shorter oval. But it just doesn't work on a super speedway when things are changing all the time.
Duffey is so good calling races. The play by play of the end of stage one had more energy than Mike Joy and Rick Allen combined.
