What a track debut for freshman Zach Munger! 8:18 for 2nd in the 3000, Chung with a PR of 8:20!!

On the girls side it was cat and mouse all race long till Madison Brown had enough and ran away with it nearing her Pr running 9:40 and the amazing Kennady Fontenot in 3rd running 9:47

3:35.62 a solid 4x400 opener! Don't know why we let Wade open it up, she never gets the pole position! She opened with a 56.07! Jayden Wood ran a 53.3, Nissi Kabongo ran a 53.6, and Jermaisha Arnold a 52.5

B team loses to Florida by .01

Great split by Kimar Farquharson! 46.2! Cutler Zamzow 46.8!

45.77 split for Eric Hemphill!

Claire Bryant looked amazing! If she can stay atop the long jump along with Grace Stark and a strong relay and some points in the throws to go with Valby and other distance stars! It'll be a great team! Arkansas is loaded as well! But the distance stars you all have should make you the favorite! Valby can win the 3k/5k and/or anchor a winning DMR

Woman

Camryn Dickson
Sprinter, Sophomore, Clear Brook High School, League City, Texas

Dickson had herself a great meet smashing her PR in the 60 meter dash to win! Her prelim time of 7.22 was .12 seconds better than her previous Pr set last season! Albeit very early, this 60 performance currently has her 3rd in the nation! That time would have just had her outside of national qualifying last year! So she is on the bubble and with one more Pr can solidify her spot at nationals! She also opened up a 4x400 with a 56 split, which is impressive for a lead leg especially as a short sprinter!

Jaiya Covington
Hurdler, Sophomore, Aldine Eisenhower High School, Houston, Texas

Covington began the year hot with a PR right out of the gate in the 60 hurdles! She ran a 8.18 when her previous PR from last season was an 8.20 after she began last season with an 8.42! She ran really well outdoors last year and got better as the season progressed! Her 8.18 is currently 6th in the nation, but watch for her to go faster!

Men

Kimar Farquharson
Mid-Distance, Junior, Calabar, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica

In his Aggie debut, the South Plains transfer, ran an exceptional 600 race and showed a kick that couldn't be matched down the last straightaway! The 800 meter specialist ran a 1:16.69! For reference that's one second behind Brandon Miller's best! He took down a strong competitor with a 1:46 Pr from Florida! Expect him to help A&M get its 800U title back along with Sam Whitmarsh and Caden Norris! Farquharson also split a 46.2 in the relay and with such speed could be a factor in our relay!

Ondrej Gajdos
Distance, Freshman, FX Saldy, Liberec, Czech Republic

Also an international runner making his Aggie debut, Gajdos earned a victory in the men's mile after showing an incredible kick! Gajdos took down two top Aggie distance runners in Eric Casarez and Cooper Cawthra running a 4:04.80 even as he celebrated about 10 meters before the finish line! That time is excellent for this early in the year and I bet he breaks 4 minutes soon! More importantly he also gives us another option on the Distance Relay!

How was Coach Henry with the meet mechanics in the new facility? His pre-meet video commentary suggested significant disconnects with athletic department leadership.

I noticed that as well from that press conference! But I think a lot it comes from the fact that there was no need to build a whole new facility and the year he lost last season not being able to host indoor and outdoor meets! I think it's more frustration from that! But I'd like to see a press conference or interview where he recaps how the meet went!

I didn't make the meet last weekend as I had hoped. What was your impression of the facility and how well the meet was run? Was parking a problem with the basketball game going on at the same time?

Parking was not a problem and there was plenty of seating available for spectators.

I wish I could have made it for that. I could have had a set since I have a baton they gave away when they opened Cushing.

i have one complaint about the meet. No meat! No hot dogs or hamburgers. We were there from 10:30 until the end and sure could have used an Aggie dog. i did find out later they did have hot dogs but they were secret. You had to ask for them and they had a few.
