I'm a tennis and of course Aggie fan and enjoyed keeping up somewhat during the season and diving in deep to this thread over the last few weeks. It really must be special to those that were active all year and in years past.

The movie has settled in during conference play but then, curveball, Gianna gone from roster. 2 schollys open.. dun dun...but alas a Carson sighting in College Station comment.. foreshadowing??

Following a heartbreaking loss to Georgia (2nd loss to them), we just spanked the tar out of Vandy after battling past a tough Tennessee (more foreshadowing?).

I can't imagine Noel would consider us. You have Mary and Nicole (both number 1s at any college) and adding a 3rd number 1…who would play line 3 and would they be okay with that? Nicole is not going to settle for playing line 3 again. Noel - no way. Mary won't play line 3. I think what we had with Carson coming in when she did was lightning in a bottle. Maybe I'm wrong. Have been so a lot this year but I don't see that. Actually - I hope I'm wrong again bc that would be cool. Haha.

I think M&M are solid 1s in doubles. Nicole and Jeanette are really effective as well; I can see that pairing continuing. The question is, who plays with Lulu? She will not come off the court and will be in the doubles lineup. She is a fighter and just knows how to win.

I've been following tennis since I was in school in the mid to late 90s. I have been playing over 30 years myself and still play on a USTA team. I have been active on the Tennis Board and even started the posts 2 years straight. This years got lost. lol.

I have attended the last 5 NCAA's tournament and have enjoyed watching college tennis. It is special to see match points for all involved which also comes with the heartbreaks with the losers. You'll see tears on both sides. But to see your team all year long to win it all is indescribable. We have been great for several years and just couldnt get over the hump. And now go out on top sure makes it worthwhile to go thru journey! And Im just a fan. Imagine the players to experience this!!!!!

FYI:
Next year's NCAA's is in Waco hosted by Baylor.

I think the part that would have to be considered is if she wants to win a national championship or be the star? I bet you Nicole would push her to the limits too. She could be #3 for us as well, but would give us the best lineup in college tennis.

She's been on below and slightly above average teams for a few years between Iowa and UM

It takes a special player. Nicole willingly walked away from Big 12 player of the year and #1 at Texas.

Now she has a natty.

Iron sharpens iron. Mary, Nicole and Noel battling daily as the favorite for a natty. Stanford did it for years - then UNC, now A&M.

Not the worst sales pitch.

That's an elite team we beat. Throw in Mel and that's 4 top 30-40ish players.

Fortunately, we had 3 top 10 players (talent not rankings) and two more that are top 30-50ish.

Interesting about the indoor comment/joke. Because nuh-uh. No roof at Kyle. I'm at the point in the movie thread where we lost to Georgia in the SEC championship. Our 3rd loss to them. It had to be moved indoors b/c muh weather. 2nd loss to them indoors. We had struggled horribly indoors.

Aggie bas was immediate. We went from euphoria at Carson's return, certain natty, laughable shenanigans by the SEC and glorious titty babies from other schools screeching/crying foul, and MORE wine!!! -------

----- to us thinking "well hopefully we can still make a deep run", hopefully we stay outdoors the rest of the way (justifiably so at that point) and there is always next year. Woe...is...me....We just can't beat Georgia, especially indoors.......

I don't think anyone on this board thought we couldn't beat uga. Carson's injury during the match, especially given her history with that, and the doubles point was still in question; but Georgia wasn't even our (mine at least) biggest concern for the NCAAs.

Looking into '24-'25, while i don't think Lexington Reed will have the immediate impact that Carson had on this program, she doesn't need to be. This team returns everyone but Carson. Mark has had a great success with players being hits not misses. Lexington is an accomplished junior, who is great at doubles and very solid in singles. This is also with the hope that Daria takes a step forward, she had a rough year but is capable of so much more.

This is also a team without a transfer in. This is who we know. Add a transfer who can compete for playing time and we'll find ourselves in waco at the end of may again.

Georgia did not have a senior on their roster this year.
Tennessee loses their #1, 3, 5, and 6 singles.

Edit: I was wrong about the recuirt that decommited from Auburn. She signed with t.u. instead.

Where they awarded '26 or '27 as well? I was thinking it was more than just '25 but may be wrong.

I've only been to 3 (2 in CS and 1 in Waco) and most were some time ago before kids' activities took over. Youngest graduates next weekend so looking forward to more free time for me .

Somewhere, I have a very worn out shirt from when we hosted at our brand new facility in 2002. Good lord willing we'll be in Waco in person next year for this event too.
