I have to admit, Florida is a very dangerous team. They need that doubles point and you can tell they work doubles a lot throughout the season. They move well together on all 3 courts and poach more effectively than we do.
Playing girls on lines 5 and 6 (and sometimes even 4), is so much different than the top 3 lines. Jeanette, Daria, Ellie, practice against girls that just crush the ball and so adapting to the back boards and lobs is just so frustrating. Jeanette's game has improved so much this year it's remarkable. She sometimes rushes shots at inopportune times, but that's just her going for a bit too much too soon. (Just my opinion from watching her play a lot this year) When she's aggressive and patient she is hard to beat at 5 and 6. Everyone has a weakness. Carson went rogue a bit today and lost focus. With the exception of Mary and Mia, all the others had some mental lapses which is very normal in college tennis. Hard to stay focused with all that's going on and other courts balls flying on your courts.
The pressure that comes with college tennis is immense. Those 3 all/deuce points are equalizers. Best to forget the score and play the ball into your opponents weaknesses. So much easier said than done though.
I know the team is happy to be in their 4th consecutive SEC tournament final.
Gig'em!!!
