I'm interested to get a recap on the new doubles pairings. How did they look? Line 3 finally wins a match, and does so comfortably at that. Mireles at line 2 is surprising to me, but, hey, whatever it takes! Not that she's not capable, it's more of a comment in that she hasn't even really been involved in any line of doubles.

Number 3 doubles looked good and won easily. Number 2 doubles were in control and were looking good then they both fell apart especially Mireles. Just don't know who else there is to put in other than Smetannikov or Pittman. No proven doubles players. Pick your poison.

Do you think this is Coach trying to solidify 2 doubles wins and throwing line 2 up for chance? When the matches were pulled after winning the point, line 2 was up 5-4, though, so that seems promising to me.

Maybe? But after watching Jeanette last year at the SEC tournament she is so good from the baseline. She has great ball control. So maybe pairing her with Lulu who has the potential to be strong at the net will set up some easier points.

Plus, maybe having Nicole at #3 allows for the consistency needed for Fitch to finish points. Fitch is obviously a solid doubles player, we just don't have anyone to match her energy for 3

Our top three isn't the problem. They match up against anyone.

Ranked #2 at the beginning of the season reminded me of SO many football seasons when we'd be ranked high only to fall on our rear in short order. Sure enough history repeated itself again. Am I worried though? Not in the least. We're about to go into the breach more commonly known as the SEC season and our ladies know what's at stake. We have a favorable schedule this year having only Georgia and Tennessee away. When we play South Carolina, BE PREPARED!! You may want to bring some ear plugs for that match. They have players that don't scream or yell, they SCREACH. It's comparable to running your fingernails over an old chalk board. Florida is always tough and Vanderbilt has lost a lot of their luster from their championship years but they are still dangerous. This doubles lineup "may" be the missing link, we'll see. But I'm giving us at least a 50/50 shot at every match, some we ought to run through just like we did Rice.

Good news is the SEC is down this year. Georgia is the highest ranked at #10 and we beat #11 Auburn.

We are MUCH more talented than our ranking, but it reflects the reality of our results. The Miami match was pretty brutal, but we also could have beat #3 Stanford and #4 Texas.

We can win the SEC, but will need to play to our potential.

I think if this doubles change results into something positive, it will help give us singles momentum.

I think I am making it to Waco on Sunday. Who else is in.

definitely doesn't make up for the current loss of brantmier, but that's pretty big for unc, an automatic insert to the lineup as a true freshman. indoors showed the team is not invincible without brantmier but it just got better.

don't know, but anything involving the knee is not a fast recovery. still have no clue what happened.
