WTN, World Tennis Number.

Think UTR, but different system. Lower is better in WTN

it's their World Tennis Number (WTN) scale. it's a new metric system like UTR. it's supposed to scale where the lower the number the better the player. It's supposed to also be accurate across genders but it's still not accurate there.

Hope this is a good change for her. She was part of two SEC titles and played a really critical role her freshman year. Clutch win against OU at the NCAAs playing #5. That loss still hurts - we could have won it all.

That said, agree that we need an open scholarship to bring in someone who can play top 4 and top 2 doubles. Our top 3 matches up with anyone.

Still think Mary is a wildcard. Obviously she will have success on the pro tour. I'm curious to see what her decision is after the season. Think the Brantmeier lawsuit would help the case of keeping Mary on campus

Mary is phenomenal. I say this with all due respect to her, but she is an overachiever. I don't think she looks like the most naturally gifted player, but her athleticism is unmatched. She is someone that learns and compartmentalizes wins and losses and is constantly getting better against the topflight singles players. That's why most will get her once or twice, but then she figures out a way to win. Much of that is because she's a versatile player, but her mental strength is her biggest weapon. She doesn't have the fire power of today's professional players, but I think she's versatile enough to cause some issues for the top 200. She will make an EXCELLENT doubles professional. From the last few matches I've watched, I think she's still trying to figure out who she is as a singles player. Just my 2 cents.

I'm so happy she's here, and I expect to see her at A&M next year, too. Praying that to be the case.

That's a very fair assessment! I would love for her to stay another year, but for her, she doesn't have much left to accomplish individually. Outside of a natty(not discounting this). Trying to see it through Mary's eyes, which is hard to do lol

Well, I was just assuming she would have success based off her results from this past summer. Also just trying to put it out there she will be a huge success…..

I think Mary is obviously going to make a very good doubles partner for someone on tour. Singles is yet to be determined, but I don't think she has even scratched the surface of what she could achieve. Another year in college might help!

Any chance Georgia drops the match at Tenn this weekend?

It certainly appears to be the last best chance for Georgia to lose. AT Tennessee, where they took us to the limit and we took Georgia to the limit in their house. Personally I don't see it happening, but Glory Halleluiah if they find a way to pull it out.

How would that help us though? Wouldn't they win the head to head? Either way, I hope they lose too lol
