I'd definitely buy them ahead of time and add them to your Apple wallet! Last year parking was mainly in the east campus parking garage and a parking pass is better to be bought online as well! All the links are on their website!! Parking is cheap! Last year it was 10 dollars!

Hadn't seen, but Shewaye Johnson went 5:01 in the mile!

Now Shewaye goes 10:40 in the 3200! But somehow that's 8th place! Might have been the craziest most competitive 3200 ever! 7 second PR! Winner goes 10:16

Jack Johnston also gets 8th with a huge 9:07 beating his PR by 5 seconds

Georgia, Alabama and UCLA all ran under 3.00 minutes in the 4x400m.
Georgia breaking the Texas relays record and wasn't far off the college record - 2.58.82

Told ya. Our girl Jenna Carter ran a huge 10:50 PR. Has a chance to qualify for State if Maddie Peters takes the first spot in Region 3.

Thanks. I drove in the morning, parked for $15 in the garage, and bought tickets at 10 a.m. with no line. Missed the 3200, but got to see my daughter anchor the 4x8. She picked off 4 people and ran a very controlled 2:16.

She'll need to go at least 5 seconds lower to escape that regional. 4:50 might not make it.

The 1600 was actually slow. And pathetically run. 21 5 minute milers in the same heat. They had a false start, and Sophia Nguyen got her face smashed, and then the starter called everybody back and started yelling at them. Our girl, who ran a 4:58 at Rice, finished in last with a 5:18. She was pretty shaken up by it all, but she regrouped and ran a 5:02 a few hours later in the DMR. They can run 50 heats of 100 meters, and half the lanes are empty in the relay heats, but they cram 2 dozen elite runners into the same race for the mile. Last time I checked, all events count the same.

Anyway, time to hit the training for district, and to cram in some Officials for the schools that have been paying attention.

Yeah I was surprised by those results! But the 3200 seemed insane, I was happy to see San Juanita Leal win it all! She's a great hard working humble girl! And I think you're right, field events are ran so poorly too! They rush it all and some officials are rude to the high school athletes and treat them like they're in some middle school meet! The meet is just so slow and always always behind, it was insane last year and I've heard complaints this year! They were changing up lane assignments and Heat assignments with no warnings and several relays missed their races! My athlete is coming back from an injury and another was ranked 25th and decided to get his 6 throws at a home meet (where he PR'd) rather than 3 in a stadium with little shade for the athletes!

I'm still surprised Areyvon Davis and the entire Fort Bend Marshall team didn't go! They asked him on social media and he just laughed and said no comment lol

But best of luck this post season! I wish your daughter all the best! PR's, past medals, past performances are all gone, now it's just survive and advance! A lot of it is mental! I personally choked too many times at regionals as an athlete so every athlete I've taken there has done extremely well! I know not what to do and I'm hoping 3 of my throwers get there and at least two can get to state! I love this time of year! Let's keep advancing!

Carlie Weiser, Shewaye Johnson, Jack Johnston, and Caressa Vajdos all with top 8 performances at this meet! Now it's post season time! I will be bouncing around to a few district and area meets as well as regionals in region 4! I follow all my athletes competitors so I will be updating the signees thread with how our athletes do and have a rundown at each level! District meets begin this upcoming weekend through the following week!

Our U of H signee ran 11:15 today at College Park. She's a swimmer who will easily run under 11:00 in the near future. She ran 17:54 as a freshman in XC 3 years ago. But she was WAY better off running the local meet today. She's not a state contender, but will be smoking those girls in a few years once she actually trains as a runner full time. There were a lot of athletes there who would have been better served running locally.

I agree with that sentiment! Everyone gets caught up on the concept and idea of the Texas Relays but the meet usually being one before district is a little too close for my liking! I've seen so many athletes or relays head to Austin against competition they're not ready for and head home psyched out mentally and at the worst time possible! To go with the travel and less days of training as well! And that's impressive! My senior is ranked 6th in the region and he started this sport 2 months ago! He's going to now walk on at his college and I'm excited to see what he blossoms into! Some people are just born with talent and coaches got to find it! I'm happy we get to host district but then we have area 3 hours away lol and our school district can't afford to put us in hotels unless it's a multi day competition 4.5+ hours away

I'm surprised with the performance of the Texas men, they were almost non existent this weekend! I can't believe they got Jonathan Jones to stay and I bet he regrets that decision now

Speaking of, I had totally forgotten about our favorite jumper from Trinidad and Tobago, but she had a way below average performance in the long jump! Nearly 2 feet below her PR that she set nearly 2 years ago… I'm no historian but wasn't she always at or near the top of the NCAA! 2 years later after a (home) meet outdoors that would not have been enough to qualify for indoor nationals

Old ag sitting next to me at the meet today ran hurdles in the 70's when Curtis Dickey was the world's fastest man. He told me that Dickey never trained a lick. 6'2", 220, and an absolute nightmare at running back. Whichever year it was, Dickey is going to the SWC meet, and the guy next to me said to Dickey,"You'd better start training for the meet." Dickey said, "Nah, I got this." Dickey ended up finishing second that year to an upstart named Carl Lewis.

She said that was her first competition as a pro athletes with PUMA (20-111/4).
She also mentioned sometime ago that last year was one of her toughest years. (Obviously we know the Reason that she listened and followed CoachFloknows)
