Looks like Andretti, Ganassi, and McLaren were the fastest teams in practice.

That's a beautiful circuit. Hanging out in the shade there watching a race looks like a blast.

I wonder what that one office building close to the track is. Working there would be interesting.

How is traffic getting out of the Indy 500? Assuming no rain delays or prolonged red flags. Green flag is 12:45pm so race should by 4pm local time. Could I make it to the airport, turn in a rental, and get on a 6:45pm flight or is that cutting it too close?

They have made improvements in recent years, but it is a two hour delay getting out, roughly. You will be cutting it a bit close with airport security, in all honesty.

Last year we left our seats the second the race ended and didn't have too much of a delay getting out.

We usually Uber from the hotel to the track and back. Maybe you could ditch the rental the day before and Uber to your gate. Just a thought.

How bad is it at RLL that Katherine Legge is the only one of their four cars to make the field yesterday.

With the resources that team has there is no excuse for them to have 3 of 4 cars in the last chance qualifier. Something terribly amiss and has been for a while.

Field was checking up in practice and Legge slammed into Wilson. Wilson being put on the back brace and taken to the hospital. Pretty vicious accident for both of them.

Does that mean Rahal moves up or will there just be 32 cars this year?

A few options: 1) The entry is what is in the field so they could simply replace the driver. 2) They could sell the entry, (Foyt did this for RHR in 2011). 3. Withdraw and 32 cars race.

I'm heading to Indy early tomorrow morning. 5:45am flight from Austin meeting my dad, brother, nephew and uncle up there for the race. Should be a good time!

We went last year as well but my dad had to cancel last minute due to my grandpa falling I'll and ultimately passing away on Memorial Day weekend so it'll be nice to have my dad there with us this year. He's been wanting to do this trip for a long time so he was bummed about missing it last year.

Our seats are on the main straight right across from pit entry. It's a very fan friendly environment. You can bring a cooler in to the track with your own beer and food.

Plan to make it next year, finally. Want to do Long Beach as well. Maybe it's just because that's the first CART race I watched, but that race always means a lot to me too.
