12th Man Foundation has come out with design concepts for the new Aggie Track and Field Indoor Track. Gilliam Indoor was already one of the most renowned indoor tracks across the globe. But we're Texas A&M and we got money to blow, so we're building a new one. This track will better suit our athletes as it will be adjacent to EB Cushing Stadium and their weight room, locker rooms, and training rooms. I'll post pictures below! But man I can't wait for 2024 and this new track which includes wrap around seating.

A 9 lane track seems that it will be centered and seating will wrap around! As well as a flat 8 lane track around the stadium, but only the standard 6 for competition. Also like the relay picture they put in the scoreboard, which seems bigger and centrally located.

Exterior of the indoor track looks much better aesthetically and will be located where the old outdoor track is. Also pictured is an outdoor throwing area which will be in between the indoor and outdoor track!

Track will be architecturally similar to EB Cushing with the brick exterior. Also seems there will be a walkway connecting indoor and outdoor track!

Lol that's what I was curious about?? Maybe in a separate place like Arkansas has it? Hate that not even a shot put ring is close by. Maybe they'll be actually be included in the same area and they just didn't add it on the design

Could the throwing area be behind the scoreboard? It appears there is a large area back there.

Possibly! That would make a lot of sense!

This is not about blowing money. The space of the old indoor track and indoor practice facility are needed for an expansion of the football practice areas. The new indoor track will be near the new outdoor track, so that seems to make more sense.

I like they are doing more balanced seating on each side of the track.

In case you didn't notice on the track photo there's a guy in maroon winning the race and runners in orange and white behind him

I am not a big fan of the new design. Looks like its least expensive option.

It does not really tie in with the rest of the architecture in the rest of campus or even the athletic buildings. It would be nice to have a storefront faade to let light in. It does not look like a very inviting place. Looks more like a warehouse with a brick lipstick along the perimeter.

I am just saying that it could be better.
