Lots of relays for the Aggies to enter

Excited to get outdoor underway and see what our sprint crews are looking like. Don't know why some people were not competing indoors but hope to see them outdoors. Does anyone know why Pat decided to run Kennedy and not Charokee. I thought it was a lot to ask a freshmen to handle the pressure of the NCAA meet. Looked like she got overexcited and went out way too fast. I think if she had contained that adrenaline she would have never been caught on the curve and possibly never have been clipped a little further along the straightway. Alas, it is a learning experience and she will be a great one. Hoping to see Jania. Laila is running her ass off on these 4x400; what a beast. So glad no more fighting for her to reach the pole; she can go out I feel in 51.5 right now at this time without any glaring outdoor winds.

Excited we're doing all the relays, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800, Sprint Medley Relay, and Distance Medley Relay! Breaks the monotony of the same races every week! It'll be fun to see the teams we come up with! Our men's 4x200 will be scary good! And the 4x800's will be fun to follow! Glad to see Aggie Track Alums like Shamier Little, Bryce Deadmon, Elijah Morrow, and Michael Bryan!

Individual events wise there's not much competition, surprisingly! Even in the open events theres not that many pros competing in Austin next week! Hopefully it's not the heat winner goes to the finals crap like last year which led to people placing 20th overall to advance lol! Surprised Katelyn Fairchild got thrown in the B division, but hopefully she can prove them wrong! I hope Sam Hankins isn't hurt!

"Texas Relays has gotten to a point where it's tough to get your athletes in a good section and I'm not pleased with the process of having some athletes left out and some that didn't even get an invitation. With the people that are going, we are going to be ready to run and we are going to be ready to compete."

I looked at the athlete list and I do agree that some athletes were left out and some were placed in the B section.
What I noticed tu has done also was to put most of their athletes in the invitational races with the PROS so these athletes could run fast times running with the PROS.

I think the focus might be on the winning as much of the relay races as possible this week

100% it's idiotic they put an Olympic trails qualifier in Katelyn Fairchild in Section B, but Texas gets to put a girl who hasn't even made nationals in college in Section A and Katelyn has a 10 foot advantage over her in one collegiate meet ever. They're putting a 58.21 hurdler in the invitational lined up next to Shamier Little for crying out loud. Literally using an Aggie pro to pace their athlete. They have distance people lined up in 3-4 races although per their rule if they're lined up they can't drop out or they're DQ from the whole meet, SURE that won't happen to them. They have an 10.6 100 guy in the invitational LMAO and another guy who hasn't run under 21 in the 200 running in the invitational. And their men's 4x100 relay B team is running against the pros, is this a comedy show or a track meet HAHAHAHA. And they have a 15 foot pole vaulter competing, he wouldn't even place in the high school B division!

Every year my friends and I have always laugh at texas when they put their top runners against the pros. They always get beat horribly and get embarrassed. It's one of the things I look forward to in this meet. I actually don't mind focusing on relays and kicking their ass in all of them. Let's not even run the Texas relays, we can host our own meet that weekend

Competing in the high school division is Katelyn Fairchild's sister McKenzie Fairchild who will compete in the javelin and discus. She's a Junior but already took an Official Visit here, a huge recruit! As a sophomore she went 159'2 in the javelin, ahead of where her sister was!

What you think the make up of the relays would be this week bearing in mind that Coach Henry may not want to run anyone in more than 2 relays (might push it to 3 events for an athlete in the shorter relays).

Lol same, the meet is always fun and even more fun when Texas A&M is dominating. Also best of luck to your sister in the steeple! A freshman going out there and running that race in this meet is admirable!

I think if our women relays take care of business and we Deborah Acquah, Lamara Distin, our Javelin girls, Heather Abadie, and other field eventers take care of business, our women could easily win Most Outstanding Team. Same for our men, we might not have the field event power, but they can win multiple relays!

Also to avoid a hassle, pay for your parking permits in advance, because they wouldn't let you pay there at the garage gates last year at State. The East Campus Garage is 10 a day. Single Day tickets are $15 dollars and it's $25 for all weekend pass! Let's go paint the stadium bleachers maroon!

That means Avi'tal and Bailey Goggans can run on either the DMR or Sprint Medley relays and be fresh! Texas' 800 leg in the Sprint Relay is also running the open 800 and their other 800 runner is doing the 800 and mile and DMR, so I expect HUGE LEGS from our AWP in the DMR and Goggans in the SMR! Annie Fuller and Gemma Goddard aren't runnning individual races, so the DMR of Goddard, Wade, AWP, and Fuller should go off and have a chance to win the DMR! Our women's 4x100 and 4x400 should easily medal as well! I can't wait to see who lines up in the 4x200 and 200 spots in the SMR!

LOL, they put in a bunch of "pros" who James Smith and Mpoke would run circles around... maybe they felt bad when Smith and Mpoke destroyed the field last year!

Also kind depressed how Mpoke and Etiwe aren't on the relay pool to run a 400 leg on either of the DMR or SMR

I want Mpoke on the 4x400, I loved him leading off last year! At the 200 we'd be 9th then we'd hand off first always lol

Put Etiwe, Hanson, or Bamidele in the SMR since it'll only be their 2nd race and we'll break a record or something! I'm still mad at Schwartzman from the DMR lol, I would think we pull B Miller from one relay but not sure which one

When did he decide to go pro?

I'm unsure if he means race with all pros or that he has completely gave up his amateurism and will no longer compete collegiately. I'm sure he would have made a post about it! Imagine having a high 43 low 44 on our already championship winning relay! We'd go 2:58 easily
